Deadline Day from Pg.641 - Summer 2025 Charlton Athletic Transfer Rumours

This sounds like a rehash of the news on here. The announcement was delayed presumably because of the deal of the young lad but the Reading FC Star has mixed it up with the CEO announcement.charltonbob said:

WIORT - still expected to be announced by the end of this week.
im inclined to not pay any attention to this “story”4 -
anyone else wondering about TCs future. with all our signings i wonder where he is in NJs thinking and I think he's in the last year of his deal..1

We've got the option of another year with TC, so 2027 is when his Contract will technically end - Be surprised if its not something we're working to extend, unless he is a possible outgoing.superclive said:anyone else wondering about TCs future. with all our signings i wonder where he is in NJs thinking and I think he's in the last year of his deal..
At the very least, lets hope that these added options now, take the pressure off him4 -
I hate to go all “Golfie” on everyone but I’ve got a bad feeling about Knibbs . It’s taking too long for my liking .5

No agreement reached with the player according to Noel Hunt.

In NJs mind he’s probably aiming for the playoffs, so will want at least 5 good options up front, with subs allowing us to play at a high intensity for 90+ minutes. I don’t see TC going unless we get a big offer.superclive said:anyone else wondering about TCs future. with all our signings i wonder where he is in NJs thinking and I think he's in the last year of his deal..1 -
Despite what everyone says about the delay in announcing Knibbs because of the poor lad who died and also the CEO. If the deal was done it would have been announced by now. I have no idea what the problem is. But I feel there is a problem. It could be another Club, it could be not agreeing terms. I hope I am wrong as I rate him. I think he is the right fit for us.2
-
You mean he wasn’t hidden away for a whole match to do running drills after then?7
-
I don't think NJ will be fucked around either. Harvey who ?0
-
I expect it's another bigger club coming in for him but that's just a guess on my part.DennisBooth said:Despite what everyone says about the delay in announcing Knibbs because of the poor lad who died and also the CEO. Can I be the 2nd person to say, didn't want him anyway, he can fu*k right off up to wherever he wants...3

Yes that was my pointfenaddick said:
Pep doesn’t send players he thinks have first team potential out on loanRadostanradical said:
Maybe but i think Arteta will do seem to Pep does with young talent, even if they wont play as much he will see more benefit to them being around the first team.MarcusH26 said:
Yeah Dowman is meant to be " the one" in terms of Arsenals academy. He'll be straight around their first team. I do wonder if there could be a later window PL loan signing though.Radostanradical said:
Its a sweet dream but Dowman has been heralded for years by those with contacts in football, he is a potential generational talent. No way does he get risked for a loan spell in EFL.CafcWest said:I’m sure one of these Arsenal youngsters would benefit from a loan to a London-based Championship club: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0j985j9p77o0 -

For Charlton to get a big offer then surely TC has to emulate his form during the three game where he was excellent and scored two goals and unfortunately Nathan went full on hyperbolic with his praise for the lad.
I agree, with the new players there is less pressure as Tyreece doesn't have to be the main man but being a pro you are always only as good as your last match with many fan/critics.0 -
I think in all honesty there's enough in the new squad to carry on without his Knibbs.
Theres an awful lot of bedding in and some players still need to come up to fitness so, as I doubt survival rests simply on one player joining then move on and see where we are in January.0 -
I was 99.9% sure that was going to happen, so I wonder what has happened there.
- Cawley said a deal is being worked on (very rare he says that unless its borderline done)
- Reading journalist said he expected the move to transpire
- O'Rourke said he expected it to go ahead
- a newly reliable ITK who was 2/3 on other rumours dropped, so it added up
That's rough. A League1 player not being able to agree terms with a Championship side is odd, makes me think he has more than one offer. Cause there's no way Knibbs goes back to Reading & another year of League 1 if he had our offer on the table surely.
Very odd14 -
Shame about his knibbs0

Dowman has been training with first team as consistent as possible since last season when he was 14.soapboxsam said:Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Dowman and Salmon are both 15, there is no way any PL club loans 15 year olds out at all, never mind to the championship.CafcWest said:I’m sure one of these Arsenal youngsters would benefit from a loan to a London-based Championship club: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0j985j9p77o
Dowman is reported to be the best young talent to come out of a PL academy since Rooney so there's no way he'll be loaned anyway, he'll be in and around their first team squad.
A 15 year old will go to the school that Arsenal have picked for him; the same thing happens at Charlton when at least from 16 most academy players go to a school where some other scholars go and the relationship is strong between School and club.
Sounds like Dowman is already training with the 1st team on occasions but will also train with his own age or at least the U18 as they won't want him isolated from his own peer group.
Not certain 15 year olds being tackled by players double their age when they are still young and growing is supported by sport science but no way can he learn more that training at Arsenal, going to a high standard school for his general education.
The kid is going no where other than Real Madrid!!!0 -
Sounds from that interview Reading and Knibbs were ready to go, maybe the medical threw up something, we move on...🤷♂️2
-
Hahaha these ‘ITK’s’ saying it was a done and he’d signed and completed his medical. People parroting off others pretending to be read in.9
-
I don’t think he will be a regular startersuperclive said:anyone else wondering about TCs future. with all our signings i wonder where he is in NJs thinking and I think he's in the last year of his deal..0 -
Yeah maybe a failed medical. Kinda hope it is that rather than him turning us down.1
