I quite enjoy starting baseless, innocuous rumours at work.
Yesterday somehow the topic of Sonic the Hedgehog came up in a Monday meeting, during which a young graduate walked into the room and asked us what we were talking about.
I said "Sonic the Hedgehog, you've never heard of him?" he said of course he had, further elaborating that he actually saw the animated movie last year.
Anyway I've since told various people that he's never heard of Sonic the Hedgehog and about 8 people have gone up to him today aghast that he's never heard of Sonic the Hedgehog. He's actually got himself into a right flap about it.

Daughter had been moaning about battery issues with her iphone which is only around 18 months old, took the case off and noticed that the screen had come away slightly most likely as the battery had expanded. Took it into Apple thinking as it was out of warranty I was looking at a cost of £85 to fix, instead it was done for free and in less than two hours.

I love it when people's posts match their user names. Just for that I might have a big fat dump in a minute.
Having run out of pages in my passport I had to apply for a renewal. The Passport Office said that it could take up to 3 weeks to receive a new passport. I received my new passport this morning and it only took 1 week. Well done Passport Office!

Last time I dealt with them I thought their service was excellent.

Whenever I see someone genuinely being kind to those less fortunate and not just as a way to gain praise from others. Namely, those who can't help but 'video' themselves doing good.
I know I've posted this here before, but I think it's worth mentioning again.
Proton provide very a very good service, but their whole business model is based on security to such an extent that they will not engage with anyone about re-instating any deleted services. When I no longer needed my Proton VPN I also deleted my email account (this looked to me like the default option, but it could have just been me being an idiot). Anyway, I wasn't bothered at the time as I had a different email account that I preferred. It wasn't until after that I realised my Proton Mail was the recovery account for something else that I needed. Proton simply refused to engage with me on the matter. My argument that security is not just about limiting potential access to others, but is also about ensuring access to those who need the service, fell entirely on deaf ears. That cost me £120 and hours and hours of work to remedy. Be careful.
Needing to spend £190 on a new Sensor for my Car, and remembering I got a 12-month warranty out, when I purchased the Car last September - Just had approval through from the warranty, so won't cost me a thing
My daughter found my 7 year old grandson's to do list for when they visit Ramsgate later this Summer.
Number one on the list is to visit Wetherspoons. I couldn't be more proud.
We went to the Royal Victoria Pavilion a couple of weeks ago, our first visit to a Wetherspoons, it won't be our last. Had breakfast there and it was amazing value for money.
You come across more than your fair share of arseholes in life but not everyone is. We’ve been going through a really tough time at home due to various issues and my mate has very kindly let us use his place on a site near Gt Yarmouth this weekend. I had to work today so my wife and daughter drive there and I got the train down. They broke down on a busy road on top of a bridge 20 minutes from the site. RAC said 3 hours but a guy stopped to help them and called a friend who was nearby who had a diagnostic machine. Bottom line was that the battery had gone. They got it started for her then followed her to the site to make sure she kept going. I met them there and offered to pay for their petrol but they wouldn’t take anything.
We had an offer from Wizz air to upgrade our membership a few months back. Which we paid €300 odd for. Turned out to be a rip-off as the very small print said it was only for the duration of the current membership, not an extension for another year, which was very, very unclear. We complained but got short shrift. Anyway, I guess enough other people complained to the right authorities as we have now got a years upgraded membership, which means coming back for the weekend for the Sheffield Weds game (and some other stuff that weekend) will cost us only €85 with ten kilos of cabin luggage each, front row seats and priority boarding.

That is so kind of them. It’s stories like this that restore your faith in humans.

A heartening story.
Btw Russ, you don't get the train down to Norfolk!

Any Charlton fan should know that trains from London are down trains, those to London are up trains. So you do get a train down from London to Norfolk!

Oh, and cheating too I guess.

Obviously I can only say "Yes, annoying isn't it?" once or twice, but I can think it every time and feel very smug inside.

A right touch...
