Yes there have to be some measures, but my attitude is that clubs shouldn't be unduly punished because they have a headcase of an owner, who won't see sense. Reading have gone through this as well, and I do have a bit of sympathy for the EFL, as they are restricted with what they can do. You can keep punishing the club, but the owner won't care.
The North Stand is quite a significant structure. The second ever cantilever stand opened in the UK, it was very advanced when it opened in 1961, but it and Hillsborough are badly showing their age now.
The stand was built only 25 years after Highbury's art deco East Stand, but seems worlds apart. (on a sort of linked comparison which is perhaps more fascinating, is that there were only 11 years between the first flight of the Lancaster Bomber and the first flight of the Vulcan Bomber).
As a fan base I went off them when they took the piss from the stands on the last day of the first season in the Premiership (as was) when we were relegated. I'd like to think that we'd never take the piss out of a club in the same circumstances.

Always enjoyed the Wednesday fans who post on here, sensible bunch. Did just see one on Reddit though saying that Wednesday could never be a phoenix club because the sheer demand for away tickets would overwhelm the 9th tier teams across the country like some kind of sweeping Yorkshire Borg so it's good to know we're not wrong about all of them13

Most of us lot up here are a decent bunch really, unlike the other lot from over the city that surprisingly suffer inferiority complexity problems over us even though they have had the better of the past few dare i say decades !4 -

There is some genuine interest in the club but not in this state would anyone buy it - he knows this, he also invented a hoax italian bidder.
The EFL doesn't seem to be offering any type of help or interaction.
Put it simply if the players refuse to play due to yet another lack of pay then its the end game for us.0 -

Absolutely we have plenty of fans that would. Just look at the second leg of the play off v Wycombe. We win and some of our lot ran on the pitch straight at the away fans to give it the biggun rather than celebrate our achievement.. every club has it's share of dickheads.8 -

Wednesday fans should feel relived if they are still a club and playing football at tier 9 level. would not take them long to rise up the leagues.0 -

I kid you not he blames the fans for everything and he even told fans to sell their own houses and assets to pump money into the club.
Quite a few were blind to him, I saw him for what he was years ago but now he has out us into a position even i think we would struggle to get out of .
Personally I dont know what will happen every day brings another twist of the knife.
Football is rotten to the core in this country outside of the top few in the PL everyone has to struggle.
Even getting into the PL these days is not all that....look at some of the clubs recenty that have like Luton and Huddersfield.
I could easily walk away from football for good thats how the system and money along with sky has brought it to us ....if we go under there will be more this could be just the tip of things to.come.21 - Sponsored links:

Speak to most fans of Premier League clubs and they are against a regulator. It is going to be an uphill struggle to get any serious changes made to protect football clubs when the owners in the Premiership don’t want to see a problem and have done all they can to stop outside regulation. They are more than happy with the way football is run to their benefit, after all, they make the rules.
They will continue to oppose everything the regulator tries to do, and if they can’t stop it, water it down to make it as irrelevant as possible. They will harvest women’s football and it won’t be long before there is more money generated from what will be their second income stream than most league clubs achieve.
The first £1m transfer just happened.
The first TV deal can’t be far away.
Results and news get far higher prominence than interest justifies.
We need to sever ties IMO. But it will never happen.3 -

“First TV deal” as if the WSL hasn’t been on TV for years and is entering a new deal this season too.
I also haven’t seen a single PL fan be against a regulator, certainly outside the “big 6”. Most fans of clubs can recognise they’re one bad owners away from being a Bury, Scunthorpe, Morecambe, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday or Charlton who could have done with a regulator stepping in. The fact that the PL as a whole were against it is a positive sign as it shows they’re a bit scared of the power it will have3 -
I genuinely think that Sheffield Wednesday will get new ownership. It’s inconceivable that there isn’t someone out there who that doesn’t see the potential. The problem for them is very much in the short term. They’re already under a transfer embargo and the delayed salaries mean the squad is depleted. Unless something has gone completely under the radar which is pretty much impossible, there is not a buyer close to gaining control. I’d imagine that a points deduction is next and staying up looks like a monumental task but not impossible. It would be interesting to see just how much debt SW actually has and to whom. Perhaps one of our Wednesday posters could help with that. I suspect that the money generated from player sales have paid some key players to stop them walking and also to pay HMRC even if it’s part payment with an agreed plan. It’s the only way Chansiri can keep all his plates spinning. Isn’t Hillsborough owned by a company that Chansiri owns ? How does that work in the scheme of things ? Any value that the club has is maximised by it being in The Championship. Relegation will make things a lot harder for a new owner but there is someone out there who will take it on.0

If Wednesday gets kicked of the league and walks away from its debts and starts again then 20 other clubs who in turn probably owe money to other clubs could tip over.

This is the worry. I dont think Chansiri wants to sell unless he gets his asking price which allegedly is £100M. The guy is holidaying in Venice whilst the news broke that the stand was closed, Rohl and all his staff had left and the wages arent going to be paid. Chansiei has chosen to secretly install facial recognition cameras in the stadium rather than pay for renovations to ensure the stand was safe for families, kids, disabled people and all fans. This man is not serious about selling. Hes holding on and dragging us down. He recently told local MPs 'what has it got to do with you' when they requested meeting him to discuss the current goings on.

I'm sure Chansiri wants to sell but has a totally unrealistic asking price. A bit like our friend Roland. There is no way a club the size of Wednesday will fold , but they may have to take a couple of steps back to rise again.0

Surely Sheffield Wednesday must be at the point where they’re trading as an insolvent business. Isn’t that illegal ?4
