*Over 18, but initially will be in the development squad
Still waiting on the Wrexham 10 million pound forward we have been told about all summer.
Seems they have settled on Josh Windass on a free 😂
Still loads of time in the window left ? Also Josh windass put up 13 goals and five assists last season in the championship so I don't really see what's funny about getting those numbers on a free, the weird bashing of Wrexham is funny I can't stand the Hollywoodness about them but they are looking more solid with the signings they've made soo far with some proven players.
What’s funny is constantly being told Wrexham are transfer big spenders when they are clearly not . They might be Hollywood but they have also made themselves probably the most disliked club outside the Premiership.
I don’t know anyone that dislikes them apart from a few obsessed people on here. If they are that disliked why did they attract our biggest league attendance last season as well as other grounds they visited
There's quite a lot of fans online who dislike them because of the Hollywood bollocks and the fact they're essentially a lower league club who've bought their success.

I think that's a bit over the top. They've just come out of period of historic underperformance (as we hopefully have too). Historically, the third tier is probably their natural level and they've played in the second tier before. They're a proper league club - they're not Salford City.

And as mentioned above, all success is largely bought in football.

Why is it over the top? I'm not saying they're not a 'proper' league club because of course they are, i simply said they are historically a lower league club.

They've spent FOUR SEASONS in the second tier in their entire history and from the mid 90s through to 2021, their highest average crowd in a season was 5,077.
  • Minto has always had a thing about Wrexham, look at his posts last summer constantly digging them out for not spending loads and saying they'll be pants and they'll drop back down to league 2.

Went a bit quiet when they were right up there all season, and now it's the summer again he's digging them out claiming they're shit and they won't spend money again

And you have always had a love in with them. Half and half scarf next season  ?

  • Never been in love with them mate, try and find a comment that shows that, but always been realistic with what they are and what they do.

Fact is the Amazon money kickstarted them and the celebrity backing got them sponsorships and other money way above their station, making the march up the leagues relatively pain free. As last season, and the season before, write them off at your peril
  • A real loss for Disney+ that whenever the doc gets mentioned it's always Netflix or Amazon, they've had a mare there
  • @DyerConsequences in these transfer lists you put together, does it list the total spending by clubs? I expect not as most signings are just listed as 'undisclosed' but wondering where we fit in overall compared to what others have spent?
  • Cool... So anything less than 6th then is a failure this season... Got it!!

Transfermrkt puts what it thinks is the fee but there are some question marks. According to them biggest spenders so far in Euros:

    Norwich €20.2m
    Ipswich €11.5m
    Southampton €11.5m
    Birmingham €10.75m
    West Brom €10.3m
    Charlton €9.52m
    Swansea €7.8m
Net transfer spend would show us much higher. Norwich have sold Sainz, while Ipswich have sold Delap and others.

So add in Knibbs and we could have spent more on fees than Birmingham haha - imagine the reaction had that been suggested any time in the past year.

Birmingham's spending last season was to get around PSR etc, they spent a lot of this summer's money last season effectively.

Pinch of salt with the source, but Ipswich linked with a £20m move for Boro’s Hayden Hackney.

Yes definitely. Ipswich as you said, their income is listed as €35.5m.

    Others on the above list.

    Norwich €27.8m
    Birmingham €8.73m
    Southampton €29.67m
    Swansea €800k
    West Brom €0

We could well be second on Net spend after West Brom.

Still pretty early in tbe window though, suspect a lot more will be spent next month.
