Isn't Bell kind of a player who plays in the Edwards area of the pitch? Defensively at least.

Edwards is hardly a gung-ho full/wing back. With our system last season, he played like a steady left back behind TC, with Small on the right having licence to be an attacking player. I'm sure Bell could play the Edwards role.Crispywood said:

That’s in possession though when pressing a lot of the time Edwards was practically marking the opposition wingback/fullback to force them to go long and then let one of Jones Macca and Kayne clear up the long ball. I don’t doubt bell’s technical ability or positional awareness to do the role I’d just question whether he has the engine and pace to manage the intensity and speed of executing the press and being able to recover back into position. I wouldn’t hate him in that role but If there was a prem club looking to loan out a LWB we could take on as cover I wouldn’t say no.killerandflash said:

That is why Luton thought he was not up to League One promotion standard. Joe Bennett used to be quick. He will do for now, as Edwards does not miss many games. By January, Kai Enslin will be ready.1 -
Tbf I totally get why people don’t like him…but when he’s your gaffer he is fucking fantastic. I really think if he gets it right with us over the next few seasons his stock can rise again. That could mean him back in the prem…with or without us but bloody hope it’s with!MarcusH26 said:

Had a good chat with Rich Cawley on Thursday in the museum about sources, the way it works at certain clubs, who gives or doesn't give out info, sources that aren't Charlton, ie agents and other journos.
It's nowhere as simple as some think IE the club ring Rich and tell him every bit of news or he just asks and gets a full, detailed run down on every aspect of a potential deal.
So Rich denying or not denying is not as definitive as some would like.
