Are we still short of a Chuks rough/up target man?
    Tanto can do that job

Different levels I know but a Southend mate told me he used to play as a 10 from time to time for them and weren't bad, so could also be cover or competition for Berry

This is still my worry , I know Miles isn't a conventional target man and I've not seen enough of Tanto yet.

Would Kelman be our second Yank after Spector?

Not 100% on it. Feels like we need a lot of Godden influence to make the step up and pass the baton. Can't question the ambition though.

    In NJ we trust.
Absolutely. We've already spent more than i thought we would and depending on what the Kelman fee is, it could take us past 8m in summer spending. None of us can knock that.

Darren Randolph’s dad was an American basketball player if that counts?

Credit to the owners, compared to a few years ago, this is making my summer so much happier. Really does feel like everyone including the fans are pushing in the same direction again.
I’ll second the number 10 role, I have a few Southend mates as per @carly burn comment.

And unlike Gibbs or Rachubka who had played for England youth teams anyway, he played league minutes for us

Former Oxford left back Joe Bennett training with us according to a guy on ITTV. 35 yrs old.

    Gordon Bennett !
    Could be Rubbish but...
He has 369 apps and only 27 outside the Premier or Championship.
Very much a reserve player in the last two seasons and would be if he signed a one year contract at CAFC. He has kept in good shape and is a attacking left back who have to be fit even if 35 years old to play the demands of the modern attacking full back/wing back.
He would hardly play unless Josh Edwards gets injured but definitely his experience could be great for the players at Sparrows lane.

Could still be rubbish but 🤷🏻‍♂️ a modest wage and a free compared to the millions being paid.

I'd say so but possibly Jones sees Leaburn/Tanto as filling that role or we're just moving away from that model entirely and intend to use movement and energy to drag defences around instead of trying to physically match them.

Either would be a gamble but in Jones we trust.

Coming round on this , I think my initial skepticism was more based off not really seeing the fit and expecting another big target man to be the player that rounds out the attacking options as opposed to another Godden.

Definitely means it's DK not Mbick going on loan too ;)

Was talking to someone this morning in Bluewater concerning the little niggles that have hit our pre season plans .. he said it’s all to do with being 3 weeks behind and a shorter  pre season , perhaps the players had to be pushed harder a little bit sooner then normally would happen , which makes sense

I just noticed that Kelman often did a ‘shark fin’ on his head as a celebration - that was surely the ‘Jaws’ link to the clue that Cawley gave a week or so ago!

If we sold Kelman for  10 million in a years time, would people be upset?
