Yea this definitely isn’t a done deal until Cawley says something about it for me.
Just really nice to have such positive associations with good players
Cawley by now would have rubbished it if nothing was in it ?
He's waiting for an update from the Plymouth Herald.

Probably a wind up between them. Players get talking & think they'll have a bit of fun to get the fans going.
Think you getting a bit deep there golfie, they have plenty to do getting themselves fit and ready to ponce about playing silly wind up's...

    Luton moving on?

3 in 34. Bonne standard. I see QPR haven't changed.
Luton are signing Gbode from Gillingham mate. This one doesn’t look anything to do with QPR (other than potentially meaning that Luton have moved on from looking at Kelman)

I think Gbode comes highly highly rated by Gills fans so while the stats aren't super impressive, I know their fans are largely impressed by him

They were impressed with Chris Dickson when he was on loan. Lol

Linfieldos just got home from work to be told the Kelman signing is imminent.........

Reams has advised that the accusations on there about it being him are completely false.

Suggests we might look to bring in a LWB, which in turn may mean Enslin goes on loan.

Would make sense cheap cover for Edwards and bit of extra experience in the changing room

I’m hoping that the quiet news with Rich about Kelman is good news rather than bad.

It's sort of funny that every time we get taken over it comes with loads of promise of shed loads of money, but this recent lot have stayed completely under the radar and have spent £9m. Love it.
The difference is that the current ownership actually has ship loads of money, and they don't need to spin bullshit to convince us of the fact.

That’s the only reason I’m still holding out hope . I’d like to think Rich would have said by now if it’s not happening. He’s probably been asked to keep things quiet if it is happening . No news from him is good news sometimes.
As for the nonsense on the other forum(s) and Twitter , I take all of that speculation and guess work with a massive pinch of salt .

It’s been a busy day for Linda the nefarious and vile disseminator of Charlton Athletic disinformation. From her hideaway deep below the Portsmouth Herald’s HQ, Linda has laced hope and expectation among the innocent and  unsuspecting of Charlton Life. Will her arch enemies- the heroes of truth and light - Rich Cawley and his trusty hero boy Louis Mendez find the strength to fight back?

I had the feeling on the last pod that Rich was under the impression we were in for Kelman and Knibbs but wasn’t at liberty to confirm.

Apart from forums, I haven’t seen us linked with Kelman..

I am not sure he is a championship player. From what I have seen, he is slow, touch not that great, not very good in the air. Looks an okay finisher.. I am sure someone going to send some stats on him.
Be prepared to be disappointed then as I am hearing the deal is almost done.
Almost done or about to be announced soon ?
I'm hearing it's at the medical stage.
If true I would expect it to be announced on Monday.
Thanks for sharing Blackpool - We've certainly dipped into the market in a way I certainly didn't expect, and if Kelman is joining, well a couple of weeks ago I'd have laughed at the prospect of him coming here.

Should the worst happen, and we get relegated, and don't get gutted with outgoings, you'd like to think that we're equally building a team that would immediately be able to compete well in League One again next season. I'm getting less and less concerned about that prospect though.
Trouble is we're building a team on championship wages & even if there's a clause re salary reduction upon relegation I think there'll be a stampede for the door & we'll be starting all over again should we be relegated.

I can't say I'm blown away with the signings but lets hope "the sum is greater than the parts". This is I guess the way to go for a newly promoted team, keeping it tight & solid though I'm still hoping for an out & out striker because whether Godden again can still do it at this level I don't know, Coventry decided otherwise. We shall see.
What you are saying makes sense to me.
Plus your thoughts at the end of this coming season really frighten me. The outcome of relegation doesn’t bear thinking about.

Lets hope we are worrying about nothing.

Exactly where I am, and I’m genuinely excited, but the abused charlton fan in me is waiting til December to tell me he told me so though!!

Plus their current M.O. seems to be based more on spending effectively rather than spending extravagantly. If there is a player we really want AND the deal makes sense then by all means we will pursue it but we're not going to throw money at players/agents who are chasing a big contract and don't actually want to be here.

I have no idea if this Kelman rumour has any legs (personally I remain sceptical) but IF it does then I have faith he'd be pursued only after deeper analysis and consideration than just having scored lots last season, and that Jones sees him as genuinely improving the squad.

Rich has been retweeting Millwall stuff today so he’s been active, I’m sure he would have denied Kelman rumour by now

So Kelma, possible Knibbs and then maybe this Japanese guy. I saw in the other forum apparently Joe Bennet is training with us. So maybe 4 more?

We were having a look at Bennett but very surprised if he signs. I think it’ll be possibly Donley on loan if we can get him (to save us spending on Knibbs), though Spurs apparently want to decide later in pre-Season so that might be a luxury loan if we don’t mind picking up the wages.

Not sure on Joe Bennett but do think we need cover for Josh Edward’s
