Kelman incoming.
You're welcome.8 -
I don’t think it will happen, I thought our defence had him in their pockets!AberystwythAddick said:If it is true, how do people feel about Kelman, he’s historically struggled at championship level 23 apps 0 goals, last year was his first decent season, is it a bit of a risk or do you think there’s a championship quality striker there3 -
Going by the kind of attacking players we have brought in so far as In young and good performers from the league below and with something to prove I'd be delighted with him, as mentioned above the perfect player to learn from godden and a ready made replacement for when he needs to step in and take the mantle.3
-
We all dream of a coaching team made up of old strikers. That’s how the song goes isn’t itForeverAddickted said:Interesting, as he cites Matty Godden as inspiration for him as a Striker, so would make sense for him to work with Matty on the training pitch.1 -
Can’t really see either Kellman or Knibbs coming. Will be interesting to see if any comment from Cawley tomorrow.2
-
He could prove me wrong, but I genuinely think he will be one that struggles to make the step up2
-
Kelman would be an amazing bit of business…QPR selling to us as a “direct” rival seems the only bit that would scupper this.
most seem to predict QPR will be slogging it out at near the bottom of the league with us3 -
I don't know who it is and I suspect it's someone on a wind up, but I know it's not @MrBurns.MrBurns said:
I've already shot down the rumours that it's me. I would never call our beloved club or our fans vile. My Leyton account is Mr Burns on thereHenry Irving said:

I don’t think I would fancy buying him yes he was good last season but that really could be a one off. I doubt QPR would be willing to sell him to us if they thought he can score goals in the Championship and atm we are one up on them after selling them Bonne lol he would cost a few million I would think and could easily be a flash in the panAberystwythAddick said:If it is true, how do people feel about Kelman, he’s historically struggled at championship level 23 apps 0 goals, last year was his first decent season, is it a bit of a risk or do you think there’s a championship quality striker there1 -
Maybe QPR don't think Kelman and Poku can play together, and as they spent money on Poku, Kelman is the odd man out.
Of course it's almost certainly bollocks anyway.1 -

I hear we are going for a relation of Arsenal's Declan and we have scouted a young German striker 🤔

It's not true. The bloke posting is clearly a sad-sack cockwomble. Let's not feed the troll.3 -
If this is true very 50/50 split on Kelman. Young, obviously coming off the back off a great season and would really suit a NJ system. However, what does he offer different to what we already have in the building, very similar to Olaofe and TC as strikers who like to press and got pace, very similar to Godden in terms of his movement off the ball and positional play. But he’s not a very clinical striker and can’t really hold up the ball well and link play which is probably what we lack most up top at the moment. Would have liked a Kieffer Moore esque profile up top but if the club are happy to throw more money around on him not going to complain gives room for Mbick and Kanu loans as wellScoham said:0 -
Asked my manager in work, big time QPR supporter, about Kelman half way through last season, he stated that he was surprised with Kelmans goal return for the O's, never looked remotely like scoring for the 'hoops' in the championship. Oddly enough comparisons were made with Connor Washington, loads of work rate but not prolific.1
-
He got 23 goals and 5 assists seems like someone who was clinical and linked play last season,granted I didn't watch him much but those stats beg to differ on those points.1
-
I think it’s getting too personal and nasty, and would rather think it has nothing to do with a Charlton Athletic supporter simply on a wind up for a laugh.
Might be time to draw a line under this and not post anything else on here from the person involved.
This is just providing a huge buzz for the guy, and we are falling for it…29 -
He should go back to his afore mentioned shed sanctuary where he keeps his collection of camp vegetables and continue to strangle his pet turkey and dream of Championship football. That vile enough 🔔 end .1

Would love to have Kelman, the new Alfie May, But as said above a few times, I can't see QPR letting go unless he demands a move and we pay lots and lots1
-

Looking at these stats they're very similar to each other, both having roughly 46% of shots on target, and a similar big chances missed to minutes played number too, certainly doesn't suggest Godden is more efficient, or Kelman is particularly profligate in front of goal3 -
Pointless to equate the seven who have left to the seven we have signed. Only Chuks enjoyed Championship wages, and I would hope even those were reduced because of his non-availability. All seven new signings will be on sizable wages, though Bell's and Burke's might be moderated because of their fitness history.Callumcafc said:Assessing the business so far
Aneke -> Olaofe
Bouzanis -> Kaminski
Gilbert -> Carey
McIntyre -> Bell
Small -> Apter
Watson -> Burke
Plus the retirement of Hylton and the signing of Rankin-Costello.Space for a couple more?
Nor do permitted player slots matter, as we have so many u21s in our squad we are well clear of problems there.
So, yes, there are spaces for another 3 or 4. It is just a question of how much deeper our owners are prepared to dig into their pockets. After Apter I expect no more expensive signings, just punts, young projects or loans. If I am wrong, then great, it will be an unexpected bonus.0 -
I know it's probably nonsense but I wouldn't be comfortable on splashing out on Kelman. Feels like last season was a complete outlier compared to the rest of his stats.5

Maybe just go for “Lee”ForeverAddickted said:Yeaaa okay... and I'll get Charlie Robert Martin Lee-Kelman tattooed on me dick if we sign him!!2 -
And that’s the challenge, judging whether it was a one off, if L1 is his ceiling or he’s a young striker who it’s finally clicked for.MarcusH26 said:I know it's probably nonsense but I wouldn't be comfortable on splashing out on Kelman. Even if we decide he’s good enough, we’d also have to consider if there’s better value elsewhere or other young strikers doing well who have more potential.3 -
I think he's one we'd have on a list of options but I suspect Tanto was the main target of that list.Scoham said:

Not sure about Kelman but trust Jones so if he wants him then I hope we get him.I wanted us to sign Knibbs along with Sam Smith when they were both available on a free from Cambridge. He’d be a good signing but he’s not a proper centre forward so if we get him I’m sure we’ll still sign a striker as well.4
