Just perhaps we have made some signings early on which do not reveal too much of our financial clout this summer. The bigger £s yet to be spent…? Knibbs will not come cheap if he is Valley bound. Hope he is btw, a very decent player.

Someone on Facebook claiming Knibbs didn’t feature for Reading over the weekend and it’s as good as done that he’s coming here.

Interesting if it’s true as he’s known for being a hard worker and loves to press.  Sounds like a NJ type of signing
Wasn't involved against Spurs or the Gills the week before. Does point to him probably being on his way somewhere.
Or injured / coming back from injury. I mean, that's what is said about Godden & Berry not playing in our 2 friendlies.

Surely Knibbs would at least be £2.5m? Reading are in a good position now that they don't need to take lowball offers.

Out of contract next summer though from what I can see.

From what their manager said and the fact reading fans think he’s off because he hasn’t been included in any kit photos, wether he comes to us I’m not sure but he’s gonna be leaving . 🤞🏻 it’s to us .

    Big week ahead.

If you believe all the random shit you read on twitter then we'll be announcing the signings of Kelman, Knibbs and maybe even Yates. What a pre-season!

I think around 2m would do it.

Yeah I would imagine £2.5-3m max. A very decent player who has not yet cut his teeth in the Championship so will hold the price down a bit.

Seems to have played 30mins vs Toulouse the other day.

He’s also 26, rather than early 20s like Apter, so far less likely that he can be developed and sold for a big profit.

From what I’ve seen it sounds like he works hard and presses well, in addition to his goalscoring, so ideal for NJ. An alternative to Godden perhaps, even though he can play out wide or as a 10?

Reading life says he had a foot injury but is now back in training

Travelled to Ireland last night with Reading which doesn’t suggest anything is close.

I’m pretty sure Knibbs has been coming back from a minor injury at the end of the season so wouldn’t read too much into him not featuring for Reading in pre season so far.

I would be surprised if QPR are in a relegation fight this season, signed some good attacking players so far with the likes of Poku and Dembele.

Yeah , I don't know enough about their new manager or their central strikers beyond Kelman but they've got solid midtable all over them with the rest of their squad.

Not fully Charlton related but ex player Alfie May is apparently signing for Huddersfield for £1.2m, do wonder if we included a sell on?

Be surprised if we included a sell on for a player of his age

WTF is going on with Charlton, if we're being linked with Kelman and Knibbs as genuine rumours... It doesnt feel... right!!

Spending around £10m in a window, where is the inevitable kick in the balls coming from? - I suppose it ties in with what got said earlier in the Summer when our budget was "apparently" around £17m

How we have changed on the transfer fee scenario, we are now throwing around 2-2.5 mill as if it's confetti, this window is getting very weird and yet exciting at the same time...

Wouldn’t have thought we had bothered as he’s 32 probably didn’t think there was any resale value in him. Not sure whether to feel annoyed we got mugged off last season for how little we sold him for or impressed we managed to pick Godden up for only 1/6 of the price he’s sold for now

I’d eat my hat if we get Kelman and knibbs. Would need silly money to get them imo and I doubt either reading or qpr would want to sell.

Pretty sure he has a house there that he’s been renovating for the last year or so.  I expect he made plenty of mpney at Brum and Huddersfield are splashing the cash a bit too.  Strange they went for him given he turned them down when it was pretty much a done deal last season but he’ll certainly play and score in L1

I thought the Huddersfield owner was salty as fuck about what went down between us, them and Birmingham 12 months ago, now he's welcoming May with open arms? Fickle bastard
