£1.2mil if Lookman goes Inter apparently

Someone alluded to sell-ons sometimes going beyond the initial buying club. I wonder if we are due any money from Pope's move to Leeds?
We will get a solidarity/development fee, same as for Lookman who looks like he is off to Inter Milan for 40 million:

Edit: we won't for Pope, my mistake, but would for Lookman who is looking likely to leave.

Would Waterloo FC not be entitled to some money? That calculation looks like it is assuming he was with us from the age of 12 which isn’t correct

I do have some anxiety about how there’s no like-for-like cover for Coventry. I suspect I’m not alone.

Same, we need some cover there unless Terry Taylor is getting another chance. Ideal if it’s who can play alongside Coventry as well as cover his role if needed

If we sort that and a new striker then I’ll be very happy

I honestly don't know anymore, I've done so much reading on it and it's all a bit conflicting. Some articles say we aren't entitled to money unless he transfers again to another country that isn't England or Italy, some say it doesn't matter as long as it's not England.

I am not sure if Waterloo count because they didn't offer him professional football, is what else is being implied. I don't know.

    My head hurts.

Absolutely no chance that Taylor will still be here. Jones didn't rate him in League One

There'll no signings announced until they return from Slovenia...

Doesn't mean they haven't been done, just they won't be announced until the comms team are back.
Purrington signed while we were in Spain. Can’t se why he wouldn’t travel as soon as it’s done.
saw a post this morning from Bromley of their new signing travelling to meet up at their training camp.
Absolutely no reason why they can’t announce him if it’s sorted
You do realise their training camp is in Dymchurch.🤭

Went on holiday there once, never thought about going back.

Taylor doesn’t have the attributes to play in the championship, in my view , although I think he was quite harshly treated last season.  I’m expecting Anderson to be better in the championship , oddly .

The reports on the deal to Inter say 40m Euros not £, so the solidarity payment would be closer to £1m

Either way it's a nice contribution to our budget.

Is that the same docherty who played for hull who were happy to let him go at this level?

Went there last Thursday with missus and 7 month old. A kid got very scared during that bit! His dad grabbed him but with 2 loud, big dinosaurs roaring each side the kid lost his shit! So dad just stood in the middle..nowhere to go!!

Meanwhile my little one slept through it....

Given the mess Hull appear to have got themselves in over the last year or so, maybe it's fair to say their judgement isn't always the best...

He did play 90 games for them in the championship. You don’t play that many games at that level if you are a complete dud!

Also some players just don’t fit in to a mangers plans.

Doesn't mean they can’t play at the level

Doc has played there, Taylor likely to be fit mid-August and Zach has been CDM for kids and has all the attributes. I'm sure Ramsay could also shine there.

In fact I'm not sure the alternatives aren't better than CC.

Let's not forget his standard go to back passes in the first half of last season. Is he up to level 2?

I’m much more confident that Coventry will be an asset there than Docherty.

Not saying he is a complete dud but to expect doc and Karoy to be better in the championship is blind optimism, especially with Karoy. Karoy thrives on scrappy games and that won’t happen as often in the championship as it does in league 1. So just intrigued  to know how we are expecting both doc and Karoy to suit the championship better?

They are both players that are good out of possession and not that good in possession. In the championship we will need out of possession strengths a lot more than in possession.

It’s like Pratley wasn’t that useful in league 1 other than in some of the big games and the play offs, but then in the championship he was probably one of our best players because having players capable of winning the ball back became more important than players that could use the ball well

Karoy is a young player who has been steadily improving under Jones. No reason to expect that he can’t continue to do so and we won’t see a step change in him after another full preseason. Jones clearly rates him highly.

Case in point, Rankin-Costello. Perfectly capable of playing in the Championship, never played lower than that, but just doesn't have a place in the current plans at Blackburn so they let him go.

We will have little of the ball in a lot of games and therefore his ability to press and win the ball back will be useful; less will be expected on the ball. I see his limitations, of course .

Docherty will struggle, in my opinion.
