    Reckon they posted the wrong video there. You could see JRC face then that’s disappeared for a video without him in it.

    NJ's quotes are interesting that he's midfielder who can cover the wide areas when we've all assumed he'll come in as the RWB. Another one done though

    Don’t think the 6/7 number mentioned by Rodwell is particularly noteworthy or trustworthy. Think he’s sensible enough to know it’s best to under promise and over deliver

    Blackburn journo who was interviewed by Cawley. Said he reckons JRC will play for us in midfield.

    So if he is midfield competition for Doc and pursuit of apted is for rwb,  where does that leave Ramsey? Is Burke and Ramsey slated for competition at the same position or is Ramsey going to be the rwb

    I guess at this stage don't know. NJ seemed very fixed on one formation at the start of the season, it almost got him sacked and we went then through a few formations before landing on the strange lop-sided 352 we saw success with. Maybe the same happens this season.
    That's a bit steep, I don't think Nathan's job was ever in jeopardy, he was finding his best formation and line-up, which came good in December iirc...
    Didn't he say himself that fans were calling for his head after the Crawley defeat - I seem to remember there being a lot of pressure at that point
    Fans weren't happy of course, but the board were backing him...
    Some fans … most understood that it was a project and nothing was going to be done overnight and plus we had 10 players missing through injury

    Not me. I thought Nathan Jones was a busted flush and his football was shite. Actually didn’t call for his head because I accepted that we couldn’t keep sacking managers but was convinced he wasn’t the answer. I’ve not eaten humble pie because it doesn’t do my climb down justice. I think he’s absolutely what Charlton Athletic need. You can praise the owners for supporting him but he pretty much on his own has turned around everything about the club. He’s united every facet of the club and given us back pride and hope in our club.

    Cant' believe how accurate our rumours have been this year. I think it's only really Offiah so far that was talked about properly and hasn't come off. Makes me feel better about the Apter talk!

    And Galbraith who we put a bid in for but apart from those two hopefully apter comes off as third time lucky for that wing back/right side spot.

    What’s that spent on fee so far? I know all are officially undisclosed, but from what we’ve heard:

    Olaofe £1.5m
    Kaminski £850k / £1m
    JRC £750k
    Burke £500k? Only one I’ve not seen a rumoured amount
    Carey Free
    Bell Free

    I make that around £3.5-£4m, excluding agent fees, signing on fees, wages etc.

    The interest in Apter suggests room for a few million more on at least one more player. We’d know we wouldn’t be getting him on the cheap.

    Exciting to see us spending like this for the first time in about 10 years when Vetokele, Bauer, Sarr etc came in.

    Burke could be cover/competition for Ramsay at RCB but also L. Jones in that central position. If Apter does come in he and Ramsay will be able to compete/cover for the RWB role as well.

    That's pretty decent squad building honestly. Proper strength in depth is something that we struggled with at times last season so it's good to have addressed that.

    What's added to that is none of the fees sound outrageous or like we've been stung. Proof will be in their performances but it's nice that we're not only spending but spending sensibly
