surely it has to be more than seven coming it, given we all seem to agree on a RWB and CAM at least

Think that’s the midfield done now have Coventry, Docherty, Costello, Anderson, Carey, Berry and Taylor when fit. We probably need a RWB/RW (Apter) and one more ST. Would like proper cover for Edwards but considering Costello, Bell and Asiimwe can all play there it’s not a must rather a like

So if he is midfield competition for Doc and pursuit of apted is for rwb,  where does that leave Ramsey? Is Burke and Ramsey slated for competition at the same position or is Ramsey going to be the rwb
Burke could be cover/competition for Ramsay at RCB but also L. Jones in that central position. If Apter does come in he and Ramsay will be able to compete/cover for the RWB role as well.

That's pretty decent squad building honestly. Proper strength in depth is something that we struggled with at times last season so it's good to have addressed that.
Assuming Burke is fit. He’ll start. Different gravy.

Gonna be gutted if Ramsay leaves

I pray to god he doesn’t go. He is the one player I am really intrigued to see how he steps up.

Is there any suggestion he is going?
Would be a massive disappointment if he left. You wouldn’t normally think there’s any change but we have signed a lot of defenders.

I’d have been more worried if we’d signed Offiah. I don’t think any of the defenders we’ve signed are that similar to Ramsay

Ramsay isn’t going to leave because we’ve signed a guy who struggles to make 20 starts a season. Chill.

People need to realise that we need more than 11 decent players to do well in this league.

All our defenders are likely to get injured / suspended at some point of the season & all will get a good amount of games (bar Alex Mitchell who I expect to depart)
Absolutely. We’re building a squad. I don’t think Ramsay will leave.

Must give Kudos to the owners for properly backing NJ with a proper budget - think with Burke and JRC signed that must be nearly £4m outlaid on new signings and it doesn't look like stopping there.

Roughly halfway to what Pompey and Oxford did, which should have always been the strategy if we wanted to give ourselves the best chance of staying up.

Hopefully more to come as we still need more quality, but fair play so far, it's been a positive window.

Nope, still to this day fans think that only the first 11 matters and that a SQUAD isn’t needed. You don’t sign the right amount of players and you end up with Tennai Watson at right wing back

Ramsay won’t be going anywhere unless it’s for silly money, exact words said by his old man at Cambridge away. There will be interest but the club is in a strong position and he’s happy here.

    We're hijacking Tottenham's £60m bid?!

I was waiting for that hahaah ;) , unfortunately not :)

  • He’s trying to hide Penny
  • One wide player away from a decent team I think. On paper probably better than the Oxford team that went up last year, they have strengthened now but a good one to aspire to

Gonna lay the fuck out of us to go down... we are doing very good, sensible business and fancy us to be midtable

Still need an attacking midfielder and striker.  Need to start offloading some people who clearly aren’t in NJ’s championship plans whether it is a loan or sale for a small transfer fee.  I would expect one of the Mitchell’s to go out on loan, TT in January, one of the backup keepers, Kanu, Ahadme,  Asiimwe

Ahadme will thrive in this team.

    He'll be like a new signing 😉

  • Nice. I can tell my boy we've signed Mr. Beast so I don't have to stump a ton on the YouTubers' match now.

I think that we are probably going have to clear a few out now before anyone else comes in (unless Apter is well advanced but I don't think it is.) Simply to try and balance the books a bit and maybe refocus on what we need once that's done - I imagine we may see a few leave that we're happy enough to move on but it would be naive to expect none of the "important" ones to go too.

Obviously I don't WANT to lose any of the key players but I have been around too long to think it can't/won't happen.

Spoke to Blackburn season ticket holder. JRC is a squad utility player. Plays in a number of back and midfield positions. Often sub. He is not that bothered if he goes. Fwiw.
    Sounds good.

What’s that spent on fee so far? I know all are officially undisclosed, but from what we’ve heard:

    Olaofe £1.5m
    Kaminski £850k / £1m
    JRC £750k
Burke £500k? Only one I’ve not seen a rumoured amount
    Carey Free
    Bell Free

I make that around £3.5-£4m, excluding agent fees, signing on fees, wages etc.

The interest in Apter suggests room for a few million more on at least one more player. We’d know we wouldn’t be getting him on the cheap.

Exciting to see us spending like this for the first time in about 10 years when Vetokele, Bauer, Sarr etc came in.
We have to go out and spend a few quid now we got promoted.

It leaves us to see how they gel.

Season ticket sales would have generated approx £4m (10,000 season tickets at an average of £400 each).

Bloody tight this lot…about time these owners chipped in with their own money! 😉

We've signed a lot of defenders so far, Nathan Jones really isn't taking any chances with injuries and suspensions to the back four.
