When are we expecting JRC to be announced
Your guess is as good as mine mate...
    About 10 minutes after he's signed...😉
  • Hearing from a source Alex Mitchell is heading out on loan to a league one club I have heard orient sniffing round, he wants to stay in London so maybe jacko might swoop in. Also hearing the club are trying to offload Gassan but are struggling, he is on roughly 8 grand a week so I highly expect he will be one we struggle to clear out.

    8k a week for Ahadme 😂 shocking
  • Bailey said: fair comment heard it from the contact we were interested in him we wanted to sign him but for whatever reason we chose not to pursue. But the loans of Mitchell and gas not gonna dissapoint. Gas will be a difficult one to offload cos realistically who wants him?

While it is shocking. It is one failed transfer and there is always that chance. You look at the 100's of millions Man Utd have thrown down the drain in the last couple of years paying people £200,000k a week on the Premier League versions of Ahadme and it suddenly doesn't sound so bad.

Our record on permanent signings since Jones has come in has been very strong.

Yes, agree.  He’s been the only NJ signing that categorically hasn’t worked out.  It’s just quite crazy to me that players of his quality can get that sort of wage (if true).

The PFA should hold an amnesty every 2 years, a bit like the local plod station where you can hand in your knife or samurai sword - no questions asked.

You drop off up to 2 players, no questions asked and the PFA will make up any salary discrepancies when the knife - sorry, player finds a new home

I would even go as far as to say signings in general, both loans and otherwise. Not all signings have been spectacular but the only ones I'd call outright flops are Ahadme and A. Campbell. The rest have been at least "did a job" level of OK.

That's a very decent success rate.

That would make sense. Lots of options at center half now .

Yep, Berry was absolute class last season. No one in there right mine can dig him out for how he played and the commitment and desire he has playing for Charlton.
It is not just me you are arguing with. It is the majority of Charlton supporters. Over the whole course of the season, Berry scored 11th out of our 12 most regular players on the boss's Statbank, ahead of only Anderson.

We are now signing 7 or 8 players to improve the first team and the squad. Even if they do not all click, you can reckon 4 or 5 will push Berry out of the starters line-up and onto the bench, which is what I am saying. If he wants to start games often, he needs to move.

He was let go by Luton because he was not up to Championship standard. Basic problem is he is too slow. That was a year ago. He will be 33 tomorrow, so he is not going to get any quicker. He also can't tackle or head the ball.

He is a good shot and decent passer, but he does not get on the ball often enough to utilize those skills. Also he has poor stamina. He can only play 20 or 30 minutes before he is blowing out of his arse. Which also suits him for a bench role.

Clearly he has a small clique of fanboys here, which is nice. But the majority of our supporters agree with me.

Looking "classy" does not cut it in a relegation battle. Gilbey and Kirk looked "classy".

If Jones decides to keep him, and plays him then that is all that matters...

How a player performs and ranks in the eyes of the fanbase, means f**k all at the end of the day.

You do make some good points, aside from Kirk looking classy.

Whose idea was it to pay a fee for Ahadme and give him those wages, Andy Scott?

As tempting as it is I'm not sure if it's fair for us to say good signing = Jones and bad signing = Scott

Just when we finally get Chuks off the books, we get Ahadme on 8k.

No doubt he'll be here for the duration, there's no way anyone is going to match that.

Surprised we’ve got to 3pm without any panic that JRCs move might have fallen through.

If you want to bring stats into it like Match rating you’ve claimed Berry can’t tackle, head the ball. Statistically among CAM’s he ranked in the top 20% of tackles % won, top 30% of aerials % won and even better numbers than that if your just looking at total numbers rather than percentages as well. Can we upgrade on Berry yes does it mean if he does start the season in the first XI he’s going to offer absolutely nothing and be a passenger no.

Loads jumping on the bandwagon with Ahadme. Literally every team in England makes a mistake with signings. For once we've only made 1 cock up, which is a massive improvement on the 10 dossers we usually got left with.
I think the amount of ambiguity about what the transfer fee really was for him doesn't help , seeing 800k-1m thrown around as a possible fee. Realistically that was probably allowing for quite a lot of add-on's.

Hopefully one of the add-on's would have been the ability to play football...🙄
