However, where was the promo shot? I think maybe the Golden Chippy in Greenwich, but not sure?Pop’n Pier Fish & Chips - Greenwich Church Street1 -
Son showed it to me as he thought it was 'pretty decent', i couldnt see what the pattern was without my glasses on. Put my glasses on and still cant. Thought it might have a bit more blue in it but think its a grower0

In 21/22 the 3rd kit had just the sword, in 22/23, the 3rd kit again just had the sword, in 23/24 it was the away kit, while in 24/25 it was the 3rd kit, so I'm surprised it's caused much surprise. I think the sword logo looks good personally, and it harks back to some pretty popular kits of the 70s

I really like that black and gold kit tbf.

3 black kits in 5 seasons (4 if you include the black Castore goalkeeper top) would suggest another black kit for our 3rd kit this season is extremely unlikely0

The kit pays homage to Charlton fan, Floyd Rose, who as a young fan playing in the dusty SE7 streets once kicked a multi-coloured Mitre football over the gates of the East Stand. Undeterred, young Floyd stole his convicted thief of a dad’s bolt cutters and broke his way into the ground to retrieve his ball so his friends could continue playing.
Floyd’s actions of resilience, determination, sustainability, family focus and community spirit are synonymous of the ethos of Charlton Athletic…

We’ve actually had loads of decent designs over recent years, but the material is cheap, shiny and badly stitched on virtually every one so none look that good. It’s a shame because when you feel the weight and thickness of the old Le Coq Sportif and Joma shirts you realise how different they used to be. The sponsor materials and embroidered badges obviously made a big difference too.7

I take it the few people you've sent it to are not Charlton fans. Every single Charlton fan would recognise the sword emblem as us, and I couldn't give a flying f*ck what non-Charlton fans think.2 -
What the hell is this shirt and badge doing.
Trust it’s a wind up.0 -
You know things are definitely on the up when one of the only things we have to worry about is the badge on one of the kits.8

If the third is black and gold I hope it’s better than the last two efforts with that combination. The Castore one looked cheap and Joma’s attempt was a monstrosity. Tarnished by relegation as well.5

If the fish swam out of the ocean, and grew legs and they started walking5

I love that Blue/White top1

With this morning’s addition of Bell, the 3rd kit might as well be a Jamaican kit1

Mendez said on the Substack pod today that the away kit was meant to be the third kit but was so popular it was bumped up. Guess that means the third kit will be relatively plain in comparison5
-
I guess that now we have the same sponsor across home and away, and therefore no obligation to not wear our home kit unless there's a clash... the difference between away/third is minimal.
I.e. we just whichever one is best suited3 - Sponsored links:
