If he’s good hopefully we won’t need to discuss him as he quietly gets on and does the important behind the scenes stuff effectively and efficiently. Not needing to comment on him / this role will be progress.7

Murphy oversaw a significant recruitment drive, with 22 new signings in the 2022 summer transfer window costing around £150 million, aimed at strengthening the squad for the Premier League. While not all signings succeeded, his strategic vision helped lay the foundation for the club’s competitiveness. He also emphasised fiscal sustainability, leveraging the club’s academy and global profile to attract talent
22 players signed in one window? Blimey. Strap in everyone!
Let's hope he does not want Scott back then.

From Dutch pressArnhem football club Vitesse has a team of five new owners—two Americans, two Germans, and one Italian.
Dane Murphy, Flint Reilly (from the US), Timo Raasch, Leon Müller (from Germany), and Italian Bryan Mornaghi have jointly bought the club’s €17 million debt from its biggest creditor Coley Parry.
Parry stepped into keep the club afloat after Vitesse was put up for sale by its Russian owner, Valery Oyf, shortly after the invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022. Attempts to sell the club since then have failed.
The new owners have opted to stay out of the limelight for the time being, and why they decided to take over the club remains unclear.
Murphy has a long history in professional football, having played for VfL Osnabrück and New York Cosmos and been a director at English clubs Barnsley and Nottingham Forest.
“The shareholders are young, ambitious, realistic, and determined to do what is best for Vitesse,” the club said in a statement. “That will take time. Vitesse deserves to become a self-reliant club that focuses on the continual development of its youth, players, and organisation rather than short-term success.”
And if he does then what happens next season when we both qualify for Europe?14 -

His wiki suggests he might be part owner of Vitesse Arnhem.
I assume that is no problem according to the rules, and he is free to work at Charlton.1 -

Interested to know why he has left a team that has just qualified for Europe to come to a team that's just got into the Championship? Can only think it's their slightly "unusual" owner?0

He left Forest 2 years agoAlgarveaddick said:Interested to know why he has left a team that has just qualified for Europe to come to a team that's just got into the Championship? Can only think it's their slightly "unusual" owner?3 -

This is what worries me - isn’t that the sort of time Scott got cleared out as well ? Didn’t they overpay for a load of chuff ? Quite likely I’m wrong but ??????Algarveaddick said:

Barnsley historian said
"Did well at Oakwell and implemented quite a few memorable things. He was removed from his position by the previous Chairman Paul Conway (Barnsley: EFL fine former directors Paul Conway & Chien Lee - BBC Sport ) for not extending his contract and then promptly told the remaining board members who were in dispute with PC the details of his sleeping partners. Ultimately got Conway removed from control of the club. I didn't have any interaction with him but rubber stamped the Hall of Fame which has now died a death. He signed Darrel Dike for us when we made the Championship Play offs in 2021"

Scott has gone
Others have came in.
I'm 100% not in the know but that's how I see it.18 -
Not sure if already mentioned but I remember reading an article or may even have been a TV feature or something from when he was at Barnsley due to his young age but I remember being seriously impressed with him at the time and thought what a coup Barnsley had then.
I remember him then joining Forest and then not hearing of him again until this news.
An excellent addition to the club.4 -
Perhaps, Dane plans to move from the Valley to the top of Shooters Hill.TheAddicks4Ever said:Will he be the man to help "take Charlton to the next level?"6 -
