    £11m - didn’t realise it was as much as that now.

    We need good players. Ramsay from L2 Harrogate and Edwards from Dunfermline the Scottish Championship shows they can come from the less obvious places. 

    We also have room for 4 foreign players who don’t meet the requirements vs 2 in L1. Chapple was Brighton’s European Scout, so I wouldn’t completely rule it out.

    I’m sure Jones will ensure the squad has the right balance between experience, early/mid 20s players on the up and leaving a bit of room for u21s to break through.

    Nine subs in the Championship changes things a bit. I can see that being ideal for u21s, it gives us room to include 1 or 2 more on the bench, and in the right games we can bring them on.

    Do we think Aneke and Watson will be kept on, or released?

    I'd be surprised if Tennai remains at the club, as think we'll need better backup for RWB, I mean you could argue that Ramsay could be backup for that spot whilst playing RCB with Zach Mitchell as cover whenever Kayne has to move back to his natural position.

    I wouldnt be surprised on the other hand if Chuks stays, provided its financially beneficial for both parties. Is there anyone else (other than Hylton who I suspect will retire, and Small) that is out of contract?

    Didn't realise this one... When did it change to nine subs?

    To be fair I've not really paid too much attention to the Championship in recent years.

    Nathan has shown he can be ruthless and very single minded. I think every Charlton fan was very sceptical to say the least when it became obvious that Alfie May the previous seasons golden boot was deemed not suitable for how Jones wanted to play. I think NJ will still want a relatively slim line squad and knows that we’re going to need at least six incoming so we’ll definitely see departures of players that have featured this season.

    They'll both be released.

    Absolutely no way we're offering Chuks an extension (and i don't think he'll get a contract elsewhere given he can only play 20 mins).

    I'd cut Aneke loose now. Fairytale ending for him, but we can't have a player that we know will go missing for 6 months of a season where we need everyone to chip in 100% of the time. Every point will matter.

    I would have kept Chuks as a striking coach and cheekily register him as a player, but we already did that with Hylton so I can't see us doing it again

    But is there a potential limit on how much we could spend based on the latest financial results released by the club?

    Don’t think we keep anyone out of contract, would nice to keep Small but have a feeling he personally has his eyes looking elsewhere. Can see Ramsay going back to RWB and Zach Mitchell going to RCB think we set up a bit more defensively in a traditional back 5

    Our squad was trim anyway after the tidy up midway through. 

    Can’t see our two loanees being offered anything. Am anticipating Chuks, Tennai, Gas, Thierry (his choice) to all leave and Hilton to retire but remain as dark arts master coach (our version of Professor Snape basically). That’s seven out with an already quite light squad for Championship. Am hoping for 9 in minimum based on above.

    We can’t loan Anderson out, unless we bring in 2/3 other mobile midfielders .

    Anderson will stay 100%. Perfect player to come off the bench when we're 1-0 up grinding out a result. 

    Depending on transfers I'd look to loan out Kanu, Asiimwe, Ahadme (I can't see anyone signing him), Mbick (unless Jones sees him as a first-teamer), maybe Mitchell again and Dixon.

    Apparently our American owners were at Wembley yesterday so they saw the size of our potential Valley support and showed enough interest to come over for the match.

    100% agree about Anderson, problem is if we buy 3 or 4 midfield players then can see his minutes limited. Especially if we get a few prem loans (like Louis Barry). Totally agree Anderson brings energy in the closing stages.

    I think Anderson will look better in the championship than he has in league one, much like Pratley did .  Less onus on what he does on the ball and more on winning it back and giving it simply .

    I agree, but more IF we sign at least 3 midfielders he might see his game time limited in the Championship. I love his energy and enthusiasm when pressing and has really pushed us on at times this season when trying to close out games, but his distribution and decision making with the ball is mixed at best.

    I agree NJ loves him and the fact he's been picked ahead of Gilbert at times this season is a massive plus for him. Just a thought that might be an argument that he goes off and spends a season as a starter playing 46+ games at high level L1 team will mean season after next will come back much better player. Just a theory, but agree we should 100% keep him for now and see where we are in January if we've signed a load of midfielders and his game time has been limited.

    Also this is about us acting as a Champ team, if we want to really compete we have to offer a little more going forward especially in that N.10 role. Berry come up with important goals, Gilbert not really done it for me and Anderson when he plays there brings energy but lack quality on the ball. We need a playmaker in that position.

    Won’t be enough in my opinion. We need to think bigger than just good league one players. Championship experience is going to be vital.
    I think the owners will invest quite heavily. Whether that will increase after what they witnessed yesterday who knows but they might see it as a great opportunity to move forward quickly whilst the iron is hot. Watching NJ interview on CBS he said we are not going up just to make up the numbers, just to finish fourth bottom and say it’s job done. He kept saying how ambitious he was and I expect the owners to match that.

    As for who to keep, release etc. No way Chuks stays. Watson, I can see a case for him being a squad player who can cover occasionally but I’d rather see him released and replaced. In my opinion Kanu, Mbick need season long loans in Leagues One or Two. No way Anderson goes anywhere, NJ loves his energy and to be fair some recent sub appearances he’s done very well. Gilbert, no thanks, not good enough or energetic enough. Ahadme? Going to struggle to offload him on a perm, may loan out, but I can’t shrug off a thought that something has gone on that we are rightly not aware of and he’ll come good. The back five are fine but need reinforcements as cover, at least two midfielders, another wide player, three strikers, maybe four depending on Leaburn’s injury situation and there is also a question mark as to whether he will be the same as before and can he step up.

    Finally, thought Mannion was excellent yesterday. He commanded his box, came for every cross, his handling was exemplary. AMB will be released so competition for Will needed but I’d be happy for him to start next season for sure.

    It’s going to be an interesting and exciting summer.

    Nathan Jones thrives on developing young players and bringing them through. Anderson has made his breakthrough this season and there’s not a snowball chance in hell that he’ll be put out on loan. Jones will have him pencilled in as being a bench player and developing him further.

    I had completely forgotten there are 9 on the bench in the Championship. I would expect NJ to fill that with 7 first teamers and 2 academy players like Enslin, Mbick who haven’t gone out on loan. 

    I think we need a new GK to either oust or challenge Mannion, 2 RWB’s (I think Small is off and Ramsay is brilliant at RCB), a LCB and LWB to challenge Edwards/Gillesphey, a no 10 and a striker or two. I think Doc could be improved on but he does a lot of dirty work that goes unnoticed but will be crucial, he also has experience to help shepherd Coventry

    I like the look of Grady Diangana could be good right winger and still only 27...plus I think he grew up in Woolwich!
