I'd be surprised after his loan with Rotherham this season.

After the play off final, our first signing?
    Hope not.

Our weakness this season has been midfield. I am coming round to Coventry now he is passing forward, but we have been lacking.

OK our 3-5-2 is often  3-4-3 with TS moving forward, but we bossed the 1st half at Wembley with that line up, and lost the 2nd until Karoy came on.

I'm not convinced by Doc or Berry.

Thierry Small would be foolish to leave us.

We are on the up, and there isn't a better place to showcase his talent.

A lot of work to do, but a few of these are well up to it.

I hope we sort out the likes of Ramsay, ans TCs contract extensions as well ASAP.
Agree with this 100%. Something we've tended to be really bad at is extending contracts before we have to extend them.

Christ some of the names being said on here won't keep us in the championship, we need proven players that have played at the highest level, we can't be taking a gamble on players, we need to stay in the league.

Has Phil Chapple got any history with European or overseas recruitment? I think that is that we need. Where is Thomas Dreisden when you need him?

Plenty with Brighton, think he headed up their European scouting.

If Adahme doesn’t move on very quickly I’d be concerned. 😉😆

I also expect some quick signings if indeed our infrastructure has been much improved as we like to claim. I say that because I’d imagine NJ has identified targets subject to promotion.
He’s not idol he will have names already and for once early signings would be a great sign of improvement. Gavin Carter said something about expecting NJ to be right back at work very soon in the pre match Charlton TV stuff on Friday. Let’s hope we see  incomings ASAP

To be honest, if we’re looking at bringing in another GK and I hope we are, then I’d much prefer a senior pro with good experience. I don’t see the point of bringing in a young loanee.
If it's Spurs then maybe Fraser Forster might be worth a punt

A few that I would love us to be looking for is Galbraith (And Kelman if there was a chance)

    Moxon and Fevrier from Stockport.

Louie Barry on loan from Villa as he didn't quite slot into the Hull team so a Championship loan seems sensible to a team he can thrive in.

As for outgoings, I assume Ahadme, Aneke, Watson and Taylor won't be here next year.

GK, LCB (love you Macca), RWB (if small goes), 2xCM and ST should be the priority. Interesting to see what our budget will look like now. Guessing NJ would look at loans this year considering how much good championship players cost and we need short term quality to keep us in the division. Also need to know whether NJ will keep with the fluid 4231-352 or stick to a structured 352 considering the difficulty of the league. Galbraith would be my personal No.1 signing been brilliant for Orient and was their best player on the pitch today

All mediocre scorers on Statbank. Doc, the skipper, was dropped for a few matches because he was so crap. Berry our only 10 until January. Our main weakness has been in midfield. Even Coventry with his backpasses was poor until Xmas, but we have never controlled games despite the experience of LB and GD.
And Berry has scored as many league goals as TC...

So why hasn't he got a song?

If they get us to the Championship , I'll write every one of them a song.
    Cough cough
    Late night coming up.... ✍️

Had to double take when I saw Jes Rak-Sakyi was the last to leave the stadium with our players yesterday, split off as they headed to Box Park, he went towards the Hilton.

Waiting for a Twitter expert to put together their Charlton Athletic 25/26 Recruitment Plan

He’s a player that played most of his career under Nathan jones, I think he will be brought in, maybe as he knows what jones wants to play inside and out. Being over 30 dosent matter anymore (Godden has proved this)

He’s big mates with TC, glad to hear he was there but probably sensible for him to have not gone to Boxpark!

If he’s looked after himself and is injury free then I wouldn’t be averse if Jones wants him. He’s 31 and Mo Salah is 32. If he could help keep us up then why not.

I could understand why we would go for Mpanzu but looking at Rotherham fans they absolutely hated him and If he can’t do it for a mid table L1 side anymore doesn’t fill me with confidence he can make the step up back to the championship he seems on the decline

I've got full faith in Nathan Jones to bring in the right individuals.

Especially with Phil Chapple behind him.

If Danny Hylton gets a ten year Contract then I'm all for it, as there must be a bonkers reason why.

Part of me would like us to go for the best players not to get promoted from League One this season, the likes of Wickens / Jade-Jones / Galbraith / Mothersille etc. with a sprinkling of Championship experience, however we've equally already got the latter with Docherty / Berry / Godden

Sounds like A Campbell all over again.  And he was younger

Got no real interest in signing Mpanzu, saw the reports of Rotherham fans about him being less than complimentary. Even if he'd be depth behind Cov I think we need to be aiming a bit higher quality

If Rak Saki was with us yesterday are the Crystal Palace fans giving him the kind of totally unwarranted stick some of us recently gave Nathan Asimwe?
Today it is Jacko v Asimwe, I will be happy for either of them.

Forgot about the League Two Play-Off Final :D

Its crazy that if Walsall win, all three Play-Offs would have been won by the team finishing 4th in the League

Good article on BBC sport talking about cost of promotion.

with those numbers I think we’ll be looking at upper level league one with a couple of prem loans.

Won’t be enough in my opinion. We need to think bigger than just good league one players. Championship experience is going to be vital.

I agree but the problem is £12m not going to get you many champ players with experience. I think we’ll have to use the free agent, loan and top L1 markets.

I think that’s right but I’d expect and certainly hope that the owners realise that we have basically a league one squad and it’s going to need additional investment to turn that into a Championship one.
