Thought it was odd that neither manager called over the players when the ref was down the tunnel. Unless they were specifically told not to

I thought the Charlton players did go over to Jones?
  • It was my third play off final and we've won them all. I can see a bit of a pattern here...................

Maybe I missed it but I only saw a few wandering over every now and then rather than a proper GK injury style team talk

Think I may head to Blue Water tomorrow to see if I can meet some of our Wembley heroes!!!
You'll need to go further than that - they have a team holiday planned

Just glad we did it. Havent slept much and still buzzing . Will think about next season in a few weeks. For now I'm just going to enjoy it. An amazing second half of the season, every part of the club and fans deserved that win. Juxtaposing performances this season from 2024 to 2025 it was quite an achievement to find a way to launch ourselves into the Championship with such consistent form this calendar year.
A fellow lifer kindly helped me out with a ticket for the home semi final, and the night was so special I felt the team had the determination to win. The same determination I saw yesterday. As others have said a different type of win, but we are back in the Championship 🏆

    What a day!

Went with Simonsen of this parish as well as one of our cricket club mates and also Pete Dixon, who used to do some scouting for the club.

Amazing atmosphere and saw so many people I know including Chippy and Paul Breen.

At the start of the day, I met three Charlton fans who I didn’t know at the bus stop outside Charlton Park - had a nice chat and then parted ways for our respective breakfasts, saying “have a good day, probably won’t see you at Wembley in the crowds” only to bump into them walking along Wembley Way! As Harry Hill would say “what are the chances of that happening?”

At the final whistle, I did shed a few tears and as I looked around me at the red hordes, saw plenty of others doing the same.

Proud to be part of this wonderful family

Anyway, I’m rambling now - lots of love to you all and enjoy your summer!

I'm sure I saw on this thread a video of Nathan's post match team talk in the dressing room. Is there a link for this? Thanks in advance.

Such an amazing playoff record, esp for a club who are so woeful in any cups!

    Love Josh. He’s great.
One thing though - it’s deceptive because he always looks absolutely knackered! After 5 minutes yesterday the camera cut to him and he was blowing out his arse - yet he never seems to run out of energy!

NJ saying ‘we’re going to upgrade the squad’ sounds exciting particularly after the appointment of Chapple and the recent meeting with Gavin Carter and co.

Fantastic day, very envious of those who got tickets, what a brilliant atmosphere to be part of. Even at our modest family bbq, the champagne, tentatively put in the fridge at half time, flowed freely after the final whistle. Many have said it but what a shame to see so many empty seats, I would have loved to have had just 3 of those! It hasn't always been easy supporting this club, but days like yesterday make it so special. It is all about family for me, so thank you Grandad, for taking my Dad to the Valley over 80 years ago and starting a love which has endured the test of time and could again be shared together by 3 generations yesterday. He was never far from my thoughts and know that he would be proud of us. On another note, I wonder how much the pre season tour helped get us over the line, I loved those videos, and Edwards in particular came over as quite the character. Onwards and upwards, make us proud lads.

Just rewatched the goal properly for the first time. Their keeper clearly expects Gilbert to take it and sets up the wall accordingly. Really smart from all involved for Gillesphey to take instead
There was a moment someone (I think Docherty) ran up to whisper something into Gilbert's ear. At that moment I knew Gillesphey would take it (and said so)

I wonder if that was to make the keeper think that Gilbert would take it  ;)

After all, the one thing Orient know about Gilbert is that he can take a decent set piece, as it was his 2 late corners that we scored from at Brisbane Road after the keeper flapped at them.
