POSTMATCH THREAD: League 1 Play-off Final - Charlton Athletic v Leyton Orient | Sunday 25th May 2025

1st half was a bit nervy, here at any rate, until Gillesphey bent his free kick around the Orient wall in the 31st minute, and Keeley could only just get his fingertips to it. 1-0 up at half time
2nd half is a massive blur, apart from the stupidly long pause while the ref had comms problems. 11 mins of additional time to hold out, but we did it.
Full time Charlton 1 Leyton Orient 0 and WE ARE GOING UP!
Over to you, once you've sobered up

Well deserved promotion. Winning the playoffs is the best way to go up.

Watching in Greece. Don't know how many pints I've had. What a club.

    Love Nathan Jones

I was nervous, but after that free kick went in I never doubted our defence!
Now sitting here in front of the telly with a huge single malt and a tear in my eye!
Come on you Reds and Up the Addicks (go)!

Had a ticket. Ended up ill in hospital. Crying like a little girl here.
Oh damn, sorry to hear that @SteveACS. Hope it's nothing too major, and you'll be able to celebrate with family and friends soon.

Felt confident all day, we weren't particularly great but as soon as we scored I wasn't that nervous (until the non-run into the corner at the 97th minute mark). All credit to Nathan Jones for any feeling like that

To quote the Duke of Wellington after Waterloo .. 'that was a damned close run thing' .. WE ARE BACK IN THE CHAMOINSHIP .. I have had grave doubts about Nathan Jones, but no longer, he has done a great job, got the players superbly organised and created winners, and long might it continue

    2:40am.

Time to clock off and go to bed.

Maybe i'll be able to sleep and then...wake up and think about championship football for the next three months.

    What a treat.
