Now that the season is over we should talk about the keepers. No-one really managed to nail down a number 1 spot for the whole season so who was the best keeper overall for Charlton this season: Will Mannion, Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Will Norris or Josh Keeley?
This group knows how to win. What a day . What a team. I don't know if it was the ref that told us to or a cunning plan but just before Gillespie took the free kick he picked the ball up and moved it to the left. The wall stayed where it was and the rest is Charlton history.
In the summer I said forget promotion if we let Dobson and May go. Enjoying the humble pie tonight.
Not at our best, but who cares. Mannion and the defence so disciplined and held the nerve. Did enough elsewhere to get by. Chuks saw that out nicely for us too. Absolutely exhausted now.

Thought Chuks was immense when he came on, was really unlucky not to score from a bit of a nothing opportunity which Keeley beat away at his near post.
my nerves were gone with this one from kick off, because I thought, surely you don’t get to see your team win at Wembley in three play off finals.
This one was so different to the Sunderland games. I’d definitely fallen out of love with the club over the last few years and it coincided with having both my boys so was going less, but as per Godfather 3, just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in
can’t wait to see us play some fresher teams next season. Sick of the Shrewsbury’s, the Bristol Rovers etc (yes, I know they both went down, but it’s more the thought of another season of league one dross).
to the fans that have gone home and away over the last few years, you lot absolutely deserved it today
It was a funny game and nothing between the two teams at HT except for Gillesphey’s beaut - I thought in the second half that Orient had a good go and they were unlucky overall today. They’re a great club that have been to hell and back in the last 10 years, and to have got to the championship would’ve been a great achievement. However, we stuck to our game plan and like we’ve done all season, we defended well and got it right tactically
had they got an equaliser it might have been a different story, but how good was Mannion at the end there commanding that area claiming crosses
unbelieveable day - I feel honoured to have seen this, 98 and 19. Very few fans outside the top clubs would’ve experienced winning this way at Wembley in 3 massive games
got to take my oldest boy who is 2 and a half. He had a great day and he might remember much about it when he’s older, but bloody hell it’s a special moment for me
A lot of empty seats in the Orient end, including a few whole blocks in the upper tier. Meanwhile our end was packed throughout. We must have had at least 10k more fans then them. A testament to the relative size of the two clubs.
I don’t mind admitting that, as a 65 year old man, I started crying when that full time whistle was blown. That’s how much that result went to me.
Pre-match chat in the cafe at Abbey Wood was about expectations. Against Sunderland in 98 and 2019, I didn’t expect to win. But today, I proudly proclaimed that I expected us to win and the lads didn’t let me down.
They had the majority of possession but didn’t do anything with it. Was Mannion troubled? .. Nah. Was the defence outstanding. You bet they were. Gilly was the man today and thoroughly deserved the MOTM award.
For a team that was closer to the relegation zone after the defeat to Crawley at the beginning of December, to go on the run that we did, Nathan Jones and his team deserve this promotion. The Owners deserve this promotion. But moreover, the fans deserve this promotion for all of the shit that we’ve had to put up with over the last ten years.
The future is bright, the future is RED AND WHITE .. BRING ON MILLWALL!!!
Love that the team seem to be celebrating in Boxpark and TC is just randomly going live on instagram. Edwards is going to have a hell of a headache in the morning

This was a solid like all the way through ... until the last 3 words
What a 2nd half season, what a manager .. he is a total nutter and he is our total nutter.
I never thought we would lose, unlike the Sunderland finals, which made me even more nervous.
Whilst sparing a thought for those that I know that I would have liked to have shared this with.
John Martin a former colleague who I got into Charlton Ketts known as Dr Kish and well known blogster Dick Shepphard drinker at the Rose of Denmark and part of a group known,at least by us, as the Rodsters.
Obviously there are others who have lost lived ones and my heart goes out to them.
Thanks to us the fans, Nathan and his staff and the owners.
Success brings its own challenges and only investment will enable the club to build on this success.
Appreciate the manager turned things around, but have some dignity. Centre of attention against Wycombe, and walks down stairs from Wembley with cup. Take a back seat any let your players/captain enjoy the moment. Far more dignified in my opinion
Something for another time another place. Enjoy today while you can.

Crap game but we put the ball in the net, they didn't.
And who cares?
