@LouisMend tries to interview Lloyd Jones, while the rest of the team swoop in and steal his beer: https://x.com/BBCLondonSport/status/192667003529820174017

Just rewatched the goal properly for the first time. Their keeper clearly expects Gilbert to take it and sets up the wall accordingly. Really smart from all involved for Gillesphey to take instead10

I will put a proper post up when I’ve had time to think. But I LOVE this club. Really really love it.
I love this forum. I love all of you.
Im bloody emotional at the moment for a number of reasons. But today I got to experience this with my son next to me. Bloody brilliant. WE DID IT!!!!!54 -

Centre of attention against Wycombe, and walks down stairs from Wembley with cup.
Take a back seat any let your players/captain enjoy the moment.
Far more dignified in my opinion

I’m usually a bag of nerves when we are one up but I felt strangely comfortable today. Jones has us drilled so well defensively that apart from a ten minute spell in the second half I thought we managed the game really well.

I don't care how we did it. Wasn't a box office play off final. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt
It's the result that counts and we are now out of league f*cking one

Indeed, hope this isnt the last slice of humble pie Gillesphey serves me. At one point when he was handing points to the opposition and his diagonal long balls were finding no one I was sure he wasnt up to it. Then he started scoring goals and winning points and looking defensively capable.Well made up for him, the team, manager and club and for all of us.10

Thank God for that. Don't think I enjoyed a single minute of that match but honestly once we went in 1-0 up at half time it felt a little bit like job done. Orient weren't offering much, minus some dangerous running from Galbraith, and it would have taken a big mistake from one of our players for them to score. We didn't make any. There were a couple of scary moments despite that, a shot flashed wide and a deflected shot hitting the crossbar, but the only time I genuinely thought like they might score was when Mbick binned that glorious counter attack off and they won a free kick in a dangerous area. I did not need 11 minutes of injury time, it's not like the ref was actually managing the game anyway so making us sit and stew was a pain but we held out.On the team, Godden won every header, the back three were incredible, though a couple of times Ramsay was a bit lackadaisical chasing back and bailed himself out with his pace but I'm beginning to think we could probably afford to not bother fielding a keeper as he just blocks every shot anyway, Docherty and Coventry covered every blade, Small realised he had his full back beaten on the inside and then never received the ball again, Edwards battled for everything and ruined Agyei's day, and the front two scrapped and made things difficult for the Orient defenders. TC wasn't brilliant on the ball but he forced an absolutely cartoonish performance out of Beckles who Orient would have been relying on for a bit of leadership and I think that was genuinely a big factor.Despite our squad not being huge we've hit a good rhythm with how we manage matches and bringing Anderson on after an hour and Chuks a bit after that decides matches in our favour. When Gilbert let their player through without fouling him and they hit the bar I turned to the people I was with and told them Gilbert wouldn't see the sun again and Karoy would be coming on. He was on the next break in play and did what he's there to do, winning the ball high up the pitch and making life hell for defenders. I thought it was a massive call from Jones to have Mbick on the bench instead of Kanu and a bit mad to bring him on. I get that he's a unit but with Chuks winning the high ball Kanu's running probably would have been more useful and the chance to kill the game falling to an 18 year old with hardly any experience went exactly how you'd expect it would and could have cost us dearly. It didn't though and the best thing which is still yet to sink in isn't just that we've won but that we've don't have to be in League One anymore and that really is a dream. Now we go into next season with only 2 of today's 11 currently set to not be here next season, meaning we can strengthen rather than replace. Exciting times but I think I'll be stressed for the next 6 weeks anyway getting this out of my system.24

The 6 year old was absolutely bawling, declared it was the best day of his life and he dreamed it would happen. 'Its only a game' but today a core memory was created.

Been a shit few months for me so boy did I need that. Emotions came pouring out at FT. On the train home now with my Orient supporting dad 😬10

I know Lloyd Jones deservedly won POTY but if there was an award for player of 2025 so far, surely Gillesphey would be the man. Had I been in England I would have put money on him for first goal.
Also a shout out to Mannion who was excellent today, without really having to make a save.
Managed to watch the game after finding someone in the Thai village with wifi. Currently at Don Muang Airport on Bangkok waiting for a flight. Watching extra time would not have been an option so I'm very happy it was finished in 90 minutes (plus 11!).
Not sure I'll sleep on the flight, still buzzing. A couple of Leos might help!17 -

More emotional after this game than in 98 and 19, not sure why. Nathan Jones is the absolute nuts.
On train to Taunton now and hope I don’t wake up in Plymouth 🤷♂️5 - Sponsored links:

1st time my mum has ever come to a game with me.To experience it with my parents, other half and her family. So special
What a team , and what a last 5 months of the season.A day I’ll never forget17 -
Let's be honest it was a crap game but we did all we needed to. As soon as we got the goal we were pretty comfortable. Mannion claimed everything brilliantly.
Taking Godden off I did fear if Orient scored that would do us.
On the train home now, will have a few drinks tonight. Get in, delighted for everyone involved with this club, we don't get many days like today to celebrate so enjoy it!8 -

Saludos desde Madrid de un Spanish Addick!! 💪🏻💪🏻46 -
Charlton had better quality on the pitch. Charlton's defence was brilliant. Jones, Gillesphy, Edwards, Ramsey and Mannion caught everything in the air.Never felt that Orient was going to overrun us. Apart from couple of good blocks from Ramsey and Jones, Orient were not close to scoring. Mannion had no saves to make. Thought that if Orient had scored, I felt confident that this Charlton team would have found a way to win.Charlton's fantastic support show what potential the club have. Brilliant celebrations. Well deserved victory and promotion.8
