With Wrexham, let’s see them play a few games. Momentum from back to back promotions can take you a long way.

I don’t expect them to get promoted again but I give them an outside chance of getting in the playoffs.

They won’t struggle. Comfortable lower mid table at worst.
Well they have outperformed even my expectations (and I was bullish on them compared to the rest of the forum, p.142) so fair play to them.

With Dobson as their best midfielder.  Will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Championship.  Plenty on here think that is beyond him.
Really he been in and out of their side all season.…. Can't believe Charlton fans are still going on about him... Not in the same league as Coventry
Was dropped around this sort of time in Jan:

    https://www.thewrexhaminsider.com/match/37-touch-wrexham-midfielders-major-weakness-was-glaringly-obvious-vs-barnsley-he-has-to-improve-or-be-dropped/

But it was only for a few games until McClean crashed his car, then he's been back in ever since.

Would be interesting to see if Wrexham play him much in the Championship if they do go up.  I think they'd spend money on the side and he'll be a benchwarmer.

Shouldn't have been driving to the levy so fast, it was dry anyway.

Think they'd have to spend significant money all over the pitch. Okonkwo, Cleworth and Sam Smith I'd be confident of stepping up but they've got quite an aging squad.

I thought that was the case as well actually, but on further research he's still played 37-games, and has had a lot of minutes still.

    George Dobson - Stats 24/25 | Transfermarkt
And 34 of those were starts, plus cup appearances.

Very much in and out of the side!

Wigan 0 Wrexham 0 … what a terrible game terrible teams neither had the skill to win it .. Dobson had a stinker , OConnell league two defender and Lee released at the end of the season … Wrexham going to need 8/9 new players to survive

Think they will survive League One next season just fine.

Well they’d better get on with it. They’ve defied all previous such predictions this season, including mine

Agreed … and perhaps it’s wishful thinking … I just have a feeling they won’t make it

Not with this first eleven... Big overhaul needed just to get 4th from bottom

I think they will finish above fourth bottom in League ONE next season. You really do need to read posts properly before commenting.

    A reasonably wealthy Championship midfielder?

Are you sure about that?  Wrexham fans seem to think they are looking to sign two starting midfielders which might make Dobson’s playing time limited. He might be in the championship as a reserve or I wouldn’t be surprised if he is loaned out to a league one side.

Hopefully we wont be a league one side next year!

I don't see them loaning him out when they have other squad issues to address. I think he's perfectly capable of playing the odd game here and there and being a backup option in the Championship.

He will play a major part for them in the Championship.  Easily good enough to step up.

If Docherty can play there, no reason why Dobson can't.

Wrexham fans have also been debating why they should/ shouldn't sign Jamie Vardy so, yeah, I think you can pretty much disregard 90% of what they think and say.

He is perfectly capable of playing the majority of games and being a key part of their team again...

Depends on their aspirations. If they're happy (as i think they should be) to consolidate for a year or two then i agree he'll be fine. If they want to immediately push for top 6 then i don't think he's good enough to be the key point of their midfield.

If they want to be top 6 they’d need a complete new team. According to Fotmob their highest rated player over the season is one Eoghan O’Connell, a player most on here (but not me) were happy to see the back of.

Shaun Harvey will put paid to any such talk. I don’t like him (having met him when he was EFL) but the TV series admirably shows how he keeps their expectations under control.
