It is interesting that Benjamin was out first ball the only occasion that he did open pre-season but he's been batting at 4 for the 2s and keeping. Whereas Dawkins has been opening but not keeping so, perhaps, they are leaning that way.wmcf123 said:

I've never felt that Muyeye's technique is up to opening (but then I feel the same about Crawley) but Joe Denly coming back at some point will create even more issues in deciding upon the middle order. Even without Crawley and leaving out Benjamin but Finch opening, that would mean Evison back to batting at 7 and he will be far from happy with that prospect. Ironically, the player with the best pre-season form, DBD has managed just 22 runs in his four innings in the CC.0 -
After a rain delay, Sussex 2s are now 101-0. The Kent attack, well on the seam front anyway, is nothing but triallists and unproven youngsters bar Klaassen who hasn't bowled today. He had 4 overs yesterday but those included 5 no balls and a wide so he's clearly struggling too.0

Kent 2s have moved from 56-7 to academy prospect, Oliver Curtiss and Tejpal Birdi of Blackheath to 103-7. Chris Benjamin hasn't batted which might suggest that he has been added to the first team squad for our game against Gloucestershire. Or he's injured!!!0

Dawkins has been playing for England U19s and as far as I'm aware there are no other young keeper/bats coming through. Barney Ford is the bowler. Plays for Dartford and spent the summer playing club cricket in Australia. Has suffered a lot from injuries. Having said that about young keeper/batters, Ollie Morgan of Tunbridge Wells has taken the gloves. It is strange that Dawkins isn't keeping in the absence of Benjamin but, perhaps, he is concentrating on his batting now.000__Jaaaaay__000 said:
