Of course, the one thing we have succeeded in doing is to win both our CC matches with just the one overseas player in the side which, in itself, is a massive plus and not one that many of us saw coming given our pre-season form.
Other counties bring in one overseas bowler. We bring in two, knowing one is certain to get injured.
We're also seeing a more mature Muyeye this season - one that is actually putting a value on his wicket and not just out there for a good time.
Interesting what Adam Hollioake has said about how Tawanda has had to work on this aspect of his game (top with 226 runs at an average of 75.33 to date):
Tawanda is a classy stroke maker and I have been very impressed by his stroke play- what people may not be aware of is the hard work he’s put into the mental side of the game which is enabling him to put a high price on his wicket alongside his natural aggression with the bat. I do think that he is on a path to international recognition if he continues to play the way he has.

Not opening will help too . Fairly clear from pre season that Finch will open if and when Crawley is playing for England
And keep? Not many do both. Or does Benjamin come in as keeper?
Just going by pre season, when Finch opened and kept. Not saying I’m in favour, per se
It is interesting that Benjamin was out first ball the only occasion that he did open pre-season but he's been batting at 4 for the 2s and keeping. Whereas Dawkins has been opening but not keeping so, perhaps, they are leaning that way.
I've never felt that Muyeye's technique is up to opening (but then I feel the same about Crawley) but Joe Denly coming back at some point will create even more issues in deciding upon the middle order. Even without Crawley and leaving out Benjamin but Finch opening, that would mean Evison back to batting at 7 and he will be far from happy with that prospect. Ironically, the player with the best pre-season form, DBD has managed just 22 runs in his four innings in the CC.
After a rain delay, Sussex 2s are now 101-0. The Kent attack, well on the seam front anyway, is nothing but triallists and unproven youngsters bar Klaassen who hasn't bowled today. He had 4 overs yesterday but those included 5 no balls and a wide so he's clearly struggling too.

Benjamin can bat 7. I don’t think Joe Denly gets in the first class team

Klaassen opened the bowling (4-1-21-0) with Allison (4-1-17-0)
Despite being the only team with 2 wins, we aren't in first place, as Leics have 9 batting bonus points to our 0.
No doubt Golfie will wander through to give us the cricket equivalent of "goals over clean sheets" spiel ...

Great keeping though.
