  • This might be the quality of the bowling opposition but I also do wonder too if this is the influence of the new coach as Compton appears to be far more pro-active in looking for scoring opportunities this season.

    Muyeye 50* (71). 183-2, 133 needed

A strike rate of just over 50 is perfect for the anchorman opener. Low risk, but still scoring enough runs to keep the bowlers under pressure.

He's been around 54 in his last three innings this season but for the whole of last season it was 41 and at times much lower than that.
  • We're also seeing a more mature Muyeye this season - one that is actually putting a value on his wicket and not just out there for a good time.
  • 200 up

A lot more comfortable at No 4 than opening.

Who will open when/if Zach joins up with England though?

Indeed and I desperately hope that we don't promote him back up to open. I suspect that it will be Chris Benjamin
  • Up to 236-2 80 needed. Hope, without taking undue risks, we do it or get close before the Close today.
  • Elsewhere, Yorkshire have just beaten Worcs by the narrow margin of 504 runs.

    It was not widely welcomed
when he was being linked with Essex in the off season.

I did wonder why we hadn't heard much from Leuth!

  • Wonder if Crawley is seeing if he can get a tee time for tomorrow morning 😉
  • Middlesex should just bring the part timers on now, so the game can be finished today, and both sides can have a golf today tomorrow.

    My joke, but better haha
  • Ton up for Muyeye!
    And Compton too!
  • Does anyone here use cricinfo to follow Kents progress in the Country championship games? Looks like they have got rid of the ball by ball commentary.
  • Compton follows Muyeye to 100!

Not as flamboyant, just as vital. Well batted.

Think that’s because we’ve dropped to Div 2 but could be wrong
  • 200 partnership.

Doesn't appear to be there for Div 1 games either. The Kent official site does "ball by ball" but that stopped after 6.3 overs!  The LV site does have the facility too but that has stalled in exactly the same place so, clearly, they use the same feed.

  • Compton is now in Bazball mode  :D
