Just finished the Residence on Netflix. A fun whodunnit and something to keep you guessing.0

Well, I’ve only seen E1 so far, so I can’t yet have an opinion- though I thought E1 was very good.valleynick66 said:I watched Adolescence and was underwhelmed following all the hype.Yes it was decent and worth a watch but I didn’t think it was groundbreaking or particularly special to the extent of automatically award winning etc.
I’d be disappointed if there aren’t more noteworthy tv programmes come the awards at the end of the year. But as I say certainly worth a watch. But I’ll say this; it has just been featured tonight on the main news as a news item about a TV series on a serious subject which is making waves. And thats the main news on Czech TV, not Channel 4.!! Quite unprecedented, I think. If you are Stephen Graham you can be proud of that.5 -
Adolescence has made a lot of the US networks too. I have just finished it, maybe not best ever material, but it is brilliant TV with brilliant acting. Did I see right that Brad Pitt was involved in it?0

Yes, exec producer and his production company made it.ChicagoAddick said:Adolescence has made a lot of the US networks too. I have just finished it, maybe not best ever material, but it is brilliant TV with brilliant acting. Did I see right that Brad Pitt was involved in it?3 -

More than 8 fingers? Was not aware of a fenland element to his genetic heritage.Fumbluff said:Bradley Pitt has many fingers in many pies1 -
Realised it's time to start saving up for Private School after watching Ep2 of Adolescence5

I'm struggling to hang on with Severance.
I'm on series 2 but not a scooby what's going on.
Here's an example of how I'm losing grip. I started the penultimate episode. I didn't realise the app I was watching it on had changed the audio to French. Episode started. Everyone's speaking French. That's just Severance for you I thought. Bat shit crazy.
It was a full 15 mins before I realised there might be something up with the Audio!16 -
Surprised no one has mentioned ‘This City Is Ours’ yet. Four episodes in and pretty enjoyable so far although the scouse accents are grating.1

I’m just embracing the weirdness. I had trouble with it early on, but once I figured out lots of things we’re not going to be explained up front (like WTF are Lumon doing), I just roll along with it. At least I know what the goats are for now.carly burn said:I'm struggling to hang on with Severance.

I was worried it would just drift along, adding new twists, and just suddenly end with nothing resolved because everyone got bored with it.0 -
Finished it yesterday. Excellent, well worth a watch.LargeAddick said:Surprised no one has mentioned ‘This City Is Ours’ yet. Four episodes in and pretty enjoyable so far although the scouse accents are grating.2 -
Only watched first episode so far. Spent most of the time location spotting as it was filmed around where I live. Loads of filming takes place from here in South Liverpool. The cricket club car park seems to be an almost permanent base for mobile film crew equipment and studios. Parts of the series Protection was also filmed close by at the house (where lead characters father lived) belonging to friends of ours.bolloxbolder said:

I just watched the first 3 while ironing.Clem_Snide said:Watched the new Last One Laughing UK on Prime last night. 4 of the six episodes are available.
Basically 10 comedians get put in a big brother style house for 6 hours and they aren't allowed to laugh.
Ridiculous premise, but I was in stitches at times. There is something intrinsically funny about people trying not to laugh and when you add the likes of Bob Mortimer, Joe Wilkinson etc into the mix (actively trying to make people laugh) it somehow works.
I mean I know my father in law has just died & I'm nursing my sick husband but the only one who made me laugh was Bob Mortimer.
The rest? Dear me………not funny at all………tell me it gets better…….& who the hell is Mr Sparrow? 👀1 -
We loved it.KBslittlesis said:

I sorted out a mortgage for Bob Mortimer in the mid 90’s.KBslittlesis said:

No doubt his success was down to this.
No need to thank me 😄3 -

Watched the first episode of Mobland on Paramount+. Directed by Guy Ritchie and written by Jez Butterworth. Stars Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnon. Pretty good start.0

Is it as predictable and rehashed as I’m imagining based on your description?Clem_Snide said:Watched the first episode of Mobland on Paramount+. Directed by Guy Ritchie and written by Jez Butterworth. Stars Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnon. Pretty good start.3 -

Pwr........ we're enjoying the Protection series in ITVX, it's a good watch.0
-
No, it's not the usual Guy Ritchie offering. I assume the writing of Jez Butterworth has taken it down a darker, more "serious" route.se9addick said:

Thought Last One Laughing was one of the funniest things I've seen on TV in recent times.
A really simple concept & easy to watch. Had me in stitches at times.

Yay.
Tribe with Bruce Parry is back.
Absolutely love that program!1 -
Watched the whole series of ‘This City is Ours’ now and really enjoyed it. I see Sean Bean reckons it was one of the best things he has ever worked on. The Jamie character looked the spit of a young Wayne Rooney which was a bit weirdChaz Hill said:

I'm on the 4th episode of the city is ours and its really good TV. Some good nuances and subtlety along with tons of second guessing. The actor who plays Michael deserves his chance at a lead role like this and is taking it. Sean Bean still has a great screen presence as does Julie Graham3

Re Adolescence episode 2. As a retired ex teacher I was perplexed by the terrible behaviour and lack of discipline in the showcased school. Yes you sometimes get unruly scenes in classrooms but they are dealt with. The scenario in Adolescence indicated that kids do what they want, when they want, which cannot be allowed to happen. Bullying is a worrying factor though, and seems to happen at some level in all schools.2

Yeah, I'm impressed by the series but not sure it's very accurate. The lawyer in the first episode makes loads of basic errors that would never happen in real life.thewolfboy said:Re Adolescence episode 2. I had to force himself to rewatch the first episode after he told me how shockingly inaccurate it was from a policing point of view.Jints said:

I haven't got past this yet as he's been really ill but I'd say there was a lot of artistic licence used in the timings of the arrests, interviews etc......0
