Always hard to tell from the angles but a couple of forward looking passes in that French try

I thought the same, one of the ones just after Sleightholme failed to gather.

It's games like that that make me feel a bit sorry for people who say they don't like rugby

Borthwick saved by this one.  Missed the game, but off to seek highlights.

Not only was that a great win it was a really good game to watch. The rain bought in some handling errors from players that you don't normally see handling errors from. Both sides looked to play even with the volume of kicking that went on. Marcus Smith will get a load of stick I have no doubt, his kicking was bad and he nearly cost us by choosing the wrong time to carry the ball into traffic. Fin Smith and Finn Baxter really stood up to be counted, Finn Baxter being the battering ram of all battering rams and deserved his try.

I don't really get the experiment of playing Smith at full back, someone else will tell me that you find a way of getting your best players on the pitch at the same time and thats fair but I think Daly is the better full back, then you choose your best fly half but I'm not the manager. Great win

Great second half, France really not at it but credit to England who stifled them and sneaked it at the end.

Cant stand rugby but i must say just seen the highlights as my engineer loves it, and to be fair what an entertaining game looking at the highlights.

There was a load of Frenchie's in the pub yesterday morning, one would assume they were off to the match. All tucked into a wetherspoons breakfast. Not sure how that compares with anything in their cafes.

I can understand the logic of trying Marcus Smith at FB, offers an attacking threat from deep.  Also think the Smith/Smith choice (that's going to be more confusing than Farrell/Ford) at fly half is a good problem to have - two good players with different strengths hopefully means we can play with variety depending on the opponent etc.

Really poor game from him yesterday though.
