  • Ireland win the triple crown, with a win over a much improved Wales.

They’ll need to be much improved to beat the French in Dublin

But the French are no way as good away from home

A lot of chances in the team today, played 20 minutes with a man down. Feel home advantage might just see us over the line.
  • Knew Scotland would get a try at 16-10, just really glad Russell missed the conversion.

Had 17-16 written all over it so very glad to be wrong.

Whoever they bring in must be allowed to pick the best Welsh players regardless who they play for.
    Until then, nothing changes.
Welsh rugby is a mess & needs fresh ideas from the bottom up.
that happens now, it's England that restricts selection to home based players
Not quite, you have to have 25 Wales caps to be available for selection playing abroad I think
Despite the close win, England's ridiculous red line needs tipex.
  • It just looked inevitable didn't it?

    Phew.
  • At least we squeaked it. Thought Finn Russell would kick that conversion even though it was difficult. He's always seemed a big game player to me.
  • I think Finn Russell showed why he’ll be part of Lions squad rather than a starter

  • Exciting game but the shocking refereeing  decision to allow Itoje’s illegal acrobatics was crucial in that result.
  • Was the ball grounded for England’s try? Tv didn’t seem to show it clearly

Agree the TV view wasn't great but the referee was in a good position so assume yes.

I'm surprised it wasn't checked though

My understanding is that they go with the on field decision unless there is TV evidence to change it.

I think the ref consulted but they didn't show anything back to the officials.

The on field decision was try so if the TV angles were bad then, according to my understanding, they go with the ref's decision.

  • Every Irish person we spoke to before the match thought it was a potential banana skin. So the relief in the pub after was overwhelming.

If Wales play like that against Scotland & England they will give them a game.
  • Lucky win for England, outscored by 3 tries to 1 by an all round superior Scotland whose terrible goalkicking cost them the game. Fin Smith's near 50 yard penalty won the game for England.
What CAN Borthwick do over the summer months to recruit, enthuse and retain a new attacking backline to generate proper momentum that the work of the England pack deserve ?.
AND time for Marcus Smith to be put on the bench, nowhere near as effective as Fin at stand off (too intent on playing his own game) and too slight and light for full back.
Wales under new management were reborn v an admittedly understrength Ireland. England playing in Cardiff in 2 weeks will find this more difficult than was likely 2 weeks ago. As a proud Englishman, it's good to see Wales somewhat back in contention and (hopefully) providing realistic opposition
  • Went backwards like feck.
    Union knock ons are ridiculous.
Spill the ball it’s a knock on end of.

    C’mon Italy!

Think they have taken that personally today  :D

Would have been a higher differential at home!
  • Garry Ringrose gets 3-game ban but can be reduced to two games with tackle school.

Leinster game this weekend included so back for Italy on final Six Nations weekend.
  • Was hoping for a France win but not with the bonus point.

They've got to be huge favourites now - BP win v Scotland and that's that.
  • Ireland failed to score when on top, France played well, and scored when they needed to. Thought the ref was poor in allowing a French try when POM gets taken out and the French played ran through the gap where would have been.
  • Can’t help but think it’s the end of an era for us now.
France played a great game, even though the ref wanted it to be all about him, we didn’t do anywhere near enough to win. Our decision making was way off today.
  • There’s the bonus point for England
  • Some good tries by Italy
