The tournament starts tonight with France v Wales (lost the last 12 games).
Ireland going for a third championship in a row, which no one has achieved since the 6 nations has started. Their two hardest games v England (tomorrow) & France are at home this year. With the loss of Andy Farrell to the Lions tour, not sure if they can do it. Will be interesting to see what Sam Prendergast will do.

as always, REALLY looking forward to the annual tear up .. France will murder the Welsh tonight, Ireland/England could be close (England have it all to do), and Scotland/Italy could (lots of 'coulds' this year) be a very close game, 50/50 i m o
Be a dash back from tomorrow's game across the road to the hotel to catch up on the Ireland/England affair !
EDIT .. England's back row concerns me, too much Curry, not enough lineout height. Borthwick seems to be gambling on the Currys outjackeling van der Flier at the expense of proper heft0 -
Be surprised if Ireland don't win it again but have put a bet on England to win the tournament.

Always my excuse for a poor gameLincsaddick said:as always, REALLY looking forward to the annual tear up .. France will murder the Welsh tonight, Ireland/England could be close (England have it all to do), and Scotland/Italy could (lots of 'coulds' this year) be a very close game, 50/50 i m o

I hope Murley can take his chance. He is incredibly fast and strong and has been amazing for Quins for a long time now.2

Watched the U20 Ireland v England game last night and the talent coming through for England looks encouraging for you. Ireland not so much.
Theres a reason why the three in a row hasn’t been done and for that reason I can see France winning it this time. We’ve got a few new faces, we’re definitely going to miss McCarthy tomorrow and a few faces that are coming to the end of their journey.Bring it on ☘️4 -
I would hope Scotland at home to Italy is not a 50/50 as Scotland are above England in the world ranking. But Scotland do have several key injuriesChizz said:

Same here on thinking France will win it - note that they are marginal favourites too.KBslittlesis said:Watched the U20 Ireland v England game last night and the talent coming through for England looks encouraging for you. Ireland not so much.

Although I guess Ireland having France and England in Dublin might swing things to Ireland.

Depends on the start I think. If France batter the Welsh tonight and Ireland lose to England, I already think that will be that.North Lower Neil said:

Thought the Welsh were supposed to be able to sing? Ears bleeding after those players' rendition of LOMF.1

On the flip side, how spine-tingling is it hearing a full French stadium singing La marseillaise?North Lower Neil said:Thought the Welsh were supposed to be able to sing? Ears bleeding after those players' rendition of LOMF.Absolutely epic3 -

Always think in the 6N ours is the worst one - Italy have a cracker too.0 -
It might come down to the draw - 3 at home and only 2 away makes a big difference.North Lower Neil said:

Also having Wales and Italy away and 3 at home definitely much better than Wales and Italy at home and 3 away1 -
This is painful.
And the fecking try music is making my ears bleed.
Wtaf????0 -
I was going to go for +40 points to France, but I thought Wales might rise to the occasion. So I went +35 points to France and Shrek responded with +34.KBslittlesis said:This is painful.

So he gets to go first for the Scotland v Italy1 -
43-0. Jesus. Didn't think it possible to score 0 in rugby. You only need to sneeze & you get a chance of a penalty 30 yard out.
And to think their forefathers defended Rorkes Drift.4 -
Welsh people I work with said they'd be happy if they kept it down to 50. So I guess they're kind of pleased. But can see the Gatland Gate at The Principality coming off its hinges soon0

I was looking forward to the game but it got boring once France scored. I think we should have Jerusalem as the English national anthym and have God Save the King for Great Britain, personally.2

French rugby is on another level right now both internationally and domestically. So many talented players and the atmosphere is more like football matches than our Guiness drinking middle aged Range Rover crowds. But when barely 10% of tickets to Twickenham are available to the general public and they cost in excess of £150 then in this country it’s a sport run by toffs for toffs unfortunately. Rugby needs a rethink in this country. Don’t get me wrong the 6 Nations is an awesome tournament but rugby outside of that is on its arse this side of the Channel.11

Only going to get worse from next year as it’s being broadcast by TNT.Nug said:French rugby is on another level right now both internationally and domestically. Once again it would be a monumentally bad decision by the rugby powers. Rugby needs to be on terrestrial tv right now.KBslittlesis said:

all about selling rights to the highest bidder .. professional R U is in a terrible financial state in England, Wales and Scotland .. proper R U fans will pay the subs to watch the 6 Nations, just as proper CAFC fans will pay to watch our gamesNug said:

Creating an ever decreasing pool of proper fans. Accessibility is key for long term growthLincsaddick said:

'proper' fans who make no financial contribution to R U clubs .. for all I know you might be a regular attendee at Premiership Rugby games, however there are 10s of 1000s who are 'fairweather' fans who just watch the 6 Nations on the telly for free and that is itCharlton and on said:

I was surprised the Welsh held out for as long as they did and also that they failed to at least register a score at all. Hard to judge France on last night, as it looks like Wales could be heading for another wooden spoon, but they can play some fantastic rugby at times.
Onto today where Scotland should beat Italy at home, but they have had big injuries in the last couple of weeks to key players. Then the big game of the weekend with Ireland seeking payback for last year’s defeat at Twickenham. Hopefully Prendergast rises to the occasion and realises his potential. Ireland also have strength in depth on the bench, but they have to cut out the countless errors and penalties from the Autumn series. Should be an amazing atmosphere and hope the game lives up to it. Feels too close to call, but I think home advantage will tell.1 -
It’s in a terrible state because the people that run it haven’t a clue. Rugby doesn’t have the fan base of football and it needs to widen its net not close off potential new fans in my opinion. There aren’t enough ‘proper’ fans to sustain it in its current guise.Lincsaddick said:

Been the case for as long as I can remember regarding Twickenham and the 6 nations anyway. Premier league rugby is about as accessible as top level sport gets however I make you right, the atmosphere unless in Wales or maybe Exeter Chiefs is.... soggyNug said:French rugby is on another level right now both internationally and domestically.
