Di Canio now that was a transfer.😀L0rd_M0ntagu3 said:
Hasn't Curbs often spoken about the need for good experienced pros in the group. I specially remember Curbs talking about the impact of Di Canio around the training ground setting standards and being the first player to embrace the ice bath...BoysOwn said:Surely developing the culture should be in the remit of experienced coaches. Money would have been better spent there than on jobs for old mates.
Not saying either of those players are Di Canio, but good, experienced players willing to put the hard yards in are vital for building that culture amongst the players.Dont even mention the class of player we have now. I know you haven’t 👍1 -
If we get Small to sign something similar and do no other business this window... Well thats still a good month in terms of the long term thinking with the squad for me.fenaddick said:

Jamie Jellis in the Walsall starting line up for their defeat at Fleetwood tonight.
Asiimwe an unused sub in the same game. Still don’t understand that loan deal. Can’t see him ever playing ahead of their first choice RB Connor Barrett. Seems pointless if he’s not going to get game time.3 -

Leaburn not played tonight !!! Fingers crossed a championship club haven’t turned his head 🤞🏻7

I think Potts and Hylton were far more about bringing Jones's ethos to the club than they were in for playing. They may have worked out just as Jones had hoped.balham red said:Hylton, Potts, Campbell. Jones' old boys club haven't really worked out have they? Arguably Berry to a lesser extent. They did work out as Jones wanted Potts covered Lloyd Jones while he was injured and Hylton covered while Leaburn was injured1 -
No it was always two mid .. like been said many timesCallumcafc said:
Don’t think we ever intended to sign a striker did we?Croydon said:

Leaburn, TC, Ahadme, Godden, Chuks, Kanu.
We are already very well stocked there when all are fully fit. The problem was that we had four of the six injured at some point already this season…

The key bit from Methven's podcast:
We’re seeing some players leave the club. At the same time, there is the aim to bring a couple more varied attacking options in.13 -
Definitely being sold by the weekend and not just rested after a few hard games, including when he looked tired on SaturdayTheAddicks4Ever said:Leaburn not played tonight !!! Fingers crossed a championship club haven’t turned his head 🤞🏻13 -
“Meth-man” saying we are bringing in a couple of attacking players…is this to replace Leaburn being sold
I wonder where he will go ?
Burnley ? They need a goal scorer !2 -
Amazing how many people can take the positive (we want to bring in attacking options) and immediately decide there must be a negative linked. We've really been damaged as a fanbase over the last decade or so31

Leaburn going nowhere this window9 -
A quality CAM and a pacey wideman/striker we can rotate with TC would be ideal. I still wouldn't be that surprised if Kanu goes out on loan just to get him regular games , think injury will ultimately keep Ahadme here.10

So true, whereas Gassan is being rested as seen as the future.0 -
Definitely need a back up for TC/Small. If one of them gets injured our entire game plan changes7
-
If Campbell still with us for the season? However ineffective he's been, he may still be needed as without Taylor and Edun our midfield backup options are relatively thin if we have any injuries there. Coventry is also 2 bookings from a 2 match ban.2

G Ahadme, A Campbell, T Watson, Z Mitchell and A Henry the only experienced pros not in the squad tonight I think (Z Mitchell a stretch to call experienced).
Exception of Mitchell all the others have had rumours of moving on.
Definitely need some experience in, or a few injuries and we will have the kids back on the bench for our run in.1 -
Isn’t Aaron Henry out on loan somewhere?Athletico Charlton said:G Ahadme, A Campbell, T Watson, Z Mitchell and A Henry the only experienced pros not in the squad tonight I think (Z Mitchell a stretch to call experienced).

My thoughts too, although I don't think Kanu will be going out on loan anytime soon. Ahadme injured & Chuks is made of glass so we need back up. Also Kanu looked pretty sharp tonightMarcusH26 said:A quality CAM and a pacey wideman/striker we can rotate with TC would be ideal. .
Just need a wide player to interchange with TC and a playmaker in midfield.5 -

Well that's a good aim... if we actually manage to succeed. Otherwise its back to another Tedic-on-deadline-day situation and that's not exactly ideal.Scoham said:https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/the-fact-is-charlie-methven-makes-charlton-athletic-transfer-admission-in-final-week-of-january-window/
