Got some touchline antics of the gaffer on Saturday as I decided not to do a usual vlog, what I've gathered from social media, is everyone hates him except Luton fans and some of us 😂

That's not always a good thing and you could maybe argue he takes it too far sometimes but honestly I do quite admire that particular quality in him.2 -

That has seen Iain Evatt and Steve Cooper sacked and probably Ange Postecoglou soon if you loose the majority of fans. That's just to name 3 as many football chairman would rather give managers longer if it wasn't for the abuse aimed at the main man in the dug out. Obviously I'm not including Watford and Chelsea over the last decade !
Like the majority on CL I predicted 7th to 10th and unless we can start to control games, I can't see how we finish in the top 6. Both Bolton and Shrewsbury could've been zero points instead of 6.
I desperately want Nathan Jones to succeed at CAFC but I still have nightmares when on two occasions he played Ahadme, Leaburn and Godden as a 3 up front 🤦🏻♂️
I would rather be surprised we make the top 6 than giving abuse if we don't.

I haven’t really followed this thread, but I’m aware that there were plenty of calls for Jones’s head, especially after the Crawley game (was it?).I’m assuming that the improvement in form and league position since then have lessened those demands, or are there still some who don’t like him?(Haven’t got a axe to grind, so serious question.)

On the other hand, results and performances have both improved and so as far as I'm concerned it's move forward and look to the future.2 -

If we fail to reach the play offs especially as we now have a fully fit squad then questions will be asked.
Personally I'd like to see him given a proper budget to work with in the summer and not try to build a squad on the cheap.4 -
The major improvement is really down to Lloyd Jones returning
that and stumbling across a settled side - whether by luck or judgement, I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt
his substitutions recently have also worked out well4 - Sponsored links:

Jones returning was key of course but so was starting 2 pacey players (and arguably 3 when Leaburn is having a good day) on the pitch on either flank to compliment our otherwise 1 paced midfield. The realisation that the likes of Ahadme and the midfielder from Luton who came in after the season started - name escapes me - aren't up to it - has also helped.3

He's got his best available team and he's getting results, and yet some are still finding axes to grind. Got to admire that level of stubbornness17

I'm not either. Something not right about him.11

I like his intensity, I like the way he has sorted the defence out and I think this window is a big opportunity for him to show he knows what’s needed attacking wise ( assuming he is backed) - I think he’s done enough to be backed again now - 6 weeks ago i wouldn’t have been so sure1
-
Let nobody ever say he lacks a Plan B. We know how to mix it up in the final 10 minutes.8

I’m thinking this last few weeks have been huge for his career. Had the Crawley game been followed by a couple more similarly poor performances and results I think he may have been made to walk the plank. That would’ve been a disaster for his career, as he has really only had one successful spell as a manager. To step down a level or two to manage us, and to comprehensively fail, could’ve possibly put an end to his career, or at least meant he’d have had to rebuild with a smaller club at a lower level.Personally, I’m pleased for him and the club that things seem to be working out a bit better (touch wood) right now. As posters have commented above, he’s had some lucky breaks recently (Small’s form while playing out of position, the lack of injuries etc), and got some things right (team selection, substitutions etc). I hope he’ll admit to himself that he’s made mistakes and is able to learn from them. I’m not convinced he’s that sort of person, unfortunately.1

No play-offs with a full season built with 'his' squad is failure. It's then up to whether there's enough progress to feel like he should be given another go. At the moment if the form continues and we end up 7th, I would be willing to give him another season.
Another dip in form and end up finishing 10th or below? I don't really see the point.3 -
Glad to see he enjoyed the win tonight. Thought he'd looked a bit aloof after the criticisms.1

What a turnaround it’s been, hopefully the owners have seen enough to want to invest in the squad for the remainder of the transfer window and get us into the top 6.2

It would be a very small statue7 -
Credit where it is due, he has really turned around the team. After the Crawley game, I was one of the majority that thought his time should be up. That period we looked like a national league side, with none of the players making any effort. Fast forward to now and we are playing much better football and the effort levels are through the roof, and you can tell how much it means to the players. Still plenty of the season left to go and it could all go pearshaped, but the cleansheet record vs last season speaks for itself. NJ has fixed our defensive issues and now he has that base, is starting to turn us into a side that can attack as well, which had been missing most of this season4
