India v England has basically become India v Buttler.
No support at all from the rest of the side1 -
Dismal display by England against the Indian spinners, other than Jos, who holes out.

Buttler goes for 68 (44). The rest 33 off 58 and almost zero ability to read the ball out of the hand.
110-8 (17)

Our white ball team is just awful. We keep packing the squad with part time bowlers that should be batting 8 at the highest. How Bairstow isn't walking into this side is beyond me1

Even that last ball Rashid is still as I type trying to get his bat near it.0

132-10 (20)
Buttler 68-1 (44)
The Rest 53-9 (76)0 -

Bit embarrassing that0

India win by 7 wickets with 43 balls to spare
The Indian spinners looked unplayable with all bar Buttler of our batters looking clueless and they returned combined figures of 12-1-67-5. By comparison, we only bowled 3 overs of spin (3-0-34-1) presumably because Buttler doesn't trust our twirlers.0 -
Why hasn't Bethell been given an over. If he's in the team ahead of the likes of Root and Bairstow, surely it can't be as a batsman only?0

Gautiball bashes Bazball.0

It was played at the Wally Wilson Oval; Western Province Cricket Club in Cape Town and I have to say that the pitch looks like the back square at a cricket club and the outfield resembled the local park. Surely an international of this status deserves something better than this?

The venue was different for the 3rd ODI but the struggles with the bat, for both sides, are ongoing. England were 156 all out off 40.1 overs (Archie Vaughan 60) with SA winning for the loss of 6 wickets with almost 15 overs left. So the teams batting first have now been all out for 88, 161 and 156 with the side chasing losing at least 5 wickets in chasing their target down.0 -
Rocky Flintoff scored a century earlier for the Lions. I understand some saying he’s only there for his name, and it definitely helps, but you cannot doubt the kid has talent.1

There are issues with releasing teenagers/young players across all sports and it needs to be vastly improved. There needs to be some form of regulation around it but that will never happen.0 -
Looking at the lions, U-19’s and in county cricket, there are a fair few players whose dads have played not only professionally but also on the international stage. Some will go on and play international cricket, name only goes so far but the majority of the comments on line show the mentality of the online era that we live in. Unfortunately, it gives morons a forum to vent their poor views.
out of interest, does rocky flintoff bowl.
to be honest, if rocky has been selected because of his dad, he deserves the favour purely because his dad named him rocky!!!!0 -

I could (but I won't) name one individual who has been fast tracked all the way through to getting relentless opportunities at county 2nd XI level ahead of some that have more talent and been more successful in club and age group cricket purely because his father happens to be a county coach.
As for Rocky, he does bowl seamers but has never done so in the pro game. That might be to do with him being so young and his batting being more advanced. His older brother, Corey (18), is an allrounder too of a similar ilk to his brother and dad.0 -
Brilliant game happening in the WAshes. England basically playing against the DLS target instead of the real target. Balanced on a knife edge0

Good to see that we showed some fight today and hopefully we can demonstrate more of that in the final T20 and Test to follow although by the time the latter game comes along the Aussies might have Healy and Gardner back.0 -

The rain was bad enough to come off but controversy comes as earlier in the game it took three lightning strikes to bring the players off rather than the usual one. The umpires appear to have been making it up on the spot somewhat. In reality the rain was bad enough to come off at the end of the 19th over when Aus would’ve won but the umpires decided to continue and after the first ball was hit for 4 Aus delayed the game as long as possible to force the umpires hand. It was just poorly handled.1
