So, following on from the Women's defeat to Australia by 72 runs to make it 6-0 (or in points 12-0), the men lost by to India by 2 wickets with just 4 balls to spare.

The make up of the two men's sides could not have been further removed. India played two seamers and five spinners whereas England fielded four seamers and two spinners. Archer went for 60 in his 4 overs albeit a some of those were as a result of edges over the keeper's head. Here's the puzzle though - England's two spinners returned 2-28 off 6 overs so why, especially given India bowled 14 overs of spin, did Livingstone bowl his other 2 overs?

In that game he was bowled first ball of the innings but the third umpire called a "no ball". Today he was caught at slip, again off the first ball of the innings against the very same bowler.

I think Australia might have found their long term opening replacement for David Warner in T20 cricket in the shape of 23 year-old Mitchell Owen. He's just hit 108 off 42 balls in the final of the Big Bash and equalled the record for the fastest all time 100 in the history of the competition (off 39 balls). This isn't a one off though as it's his second ton of the tournament and he's  ended up the overall top run scorer with 452 runs at an incredible strike rate of 203.60. To put that in perspective, only two batsmen have a faster overall strike rate and they have the grand total of 66 and 60 runs respectively.

I think it's compulsory for Australia to have at least one player called Mitchell in their team, e.g. Johnson, Starc, Marsh, with Owen presumably being the next, whereas I can't think of any England cricketers with that first name.

Mitchell Stokes and Daryl Mitchell (although these were both English cricketers, rather than England cricketers).
Frank Mitchell.  First class cricketer, South African Test cricketer and England international rugby player.
Tommy Mitchell, Ticker Mitchell Mandy Mitchell-Innes all played Test cricket for England.

So, while Australia have the monopoly on cricketers with the first name "Mitchell" playing Test cricket for them, I reckon England have the only first name "Mandy" cropping up in the men's Test team!

He played in the Lancashire league last summer for Norden. Sadly they won't be able to bring him back this season  :D

Would suspect Owen will have a Blast deal somewhere at least , probably be drafted in The Hundred too.

It's interesting, taking that into account, that Smith has been given the gloves.

India burn their first review.  So far, Umpire Karumanaseri Narayanaiyer Ananthapadmanabhan is having a good game.

As I mentioned in the last game, the make up of the two sides have been at the two extremes - we play two spinners (and they only bowled 6 overs between them in the last match) and four quicks and India play five spinners and two seamers.

Whether that is because we feel we can bully them with our quicks or because we just don't have any depth to our spin attack is open to debate.

Watched the first T20, England couldnt play Chakravarthý. Missed the second game. Now watching the third game and they still cant play Chakravarthy. What have they been doing in training? What have the analysts been doing?

In red ball cricket we play rookie spinners, whereas in white ball cricket we are really reluctant to pick them, and instead pick the likes of Jamie Overton who at this level is a bit of a nothing cricketer.

If we do lose this then the ECB should take the TV rights to cover England games away from TNT as it will be 10 straight defeats under their coverage!

Been good with the ball the past 2 games. Batting is still woefully under equipped to deal with spin
