Garrymanilow said:I think Terry Taylor is a good reminder that players can take a while to get going at new clubs. If you go back through some of the threads from last season he received some really harsh criticism and was at the top of a lot of people's sell lists. He got similar treatment that McGrandles got before that and that the likes of Ahadme and others have got this season. Now though he's one of the favourites and is seen as one of our best players this season. It's not the same for every player but sometimes a bit of patience while they settle and adapt is needed.

Need to bring in 2 midfielders, so it can be Taylor, Coventry and 2 new players. Send Allan Campbell back and sell Edunsam3110 said:If Docherty finds some form (big IF) then I think a diamond 4 of

Berry
Is the best midfield combo we have, technically speaking. However due to his pressing Anderson will be in there instead of one of them, and unfortunately for us and him our captain has been nowhere near the levels required so far, and whilst Berry shows flashes of excellence, his name is tarnished slightly by the abject performances he's put up in the recent cup games.
I still think the priority in January needs to be a proper attacking midfielder, one with goals and assists to his name0 -
Really pleased for TT, if he and CC can get on a roll then the next 3-4 games could be very interesting especially if we keep picking up the points, we need partnership like this across the pitch. If TC and Small click in the same manner we could see an upturn in firm 🤞it works out. Then all of a sudden the team is in a good place!0

Starting for the U21s today0

What’s happening with TT? Initially out of favour, then had a spell in the side (seemingly successfully) and now no sign of him again. Is he injured or out of favour? If the latter, why? He was a promising young signing and when he did play seemed to get decent reviews from CL and opposition fans alike..3

The likes of Taylor & Edun are/were on ‘Elite wages’ as they were brought in to be two of our 8 Elite players. The club want to shift him so they can repurpose his salary on another (more needed) position.
i.e they would rather utilise his wages on a CAM that starts every week (than keep a player that is back up to Coventry).5 -
Thanks - makes sense but I’d be disappointed to see him go. Can imagine him thriving elsewhere and us questioning how we ever let him go.0

After watching them play, that makes no sense whatsoever.Leftfootforward said:Thanks - makes sense but I’d be disappointed to see him go. Can imagine him thriving elsewhere and us questioning how we ever let him go.2 -
If TT does go, ( I hope not) then I hope we can bring someone else in who can take set pieces, as currently he’s the best we’ve got, and he’s not even in the side.3

Agree on set pieces, though if Jones doesn’t want him I’d rather we moved him on and bring in a player or two that he does want.Mendonca In Asdas said:If TT does go, ( I hope not) then I hope we can bring someone else in who can take set pieces, as currently he’s the best we’ve got, and he’s not even in the side.0 -

Have another look at the FK he took in our last Vertu Trophy game.Mendonca In Asdas said:If TT does go, ( I hope not) then I hope we can bring someone else in who can take set pieces, as currently he’s the best we’ve got, and he’s not even in the side.If he’s our best, then we are in real trouble.0 -
Do you expect him to hit every set piece perfectly? The majority of his deliveries are very good, which is considerably better than anyone else in the squad.Valiantphil said:

Think he'll be a loan rather than perm so it's not as if he won't ever play again. He gets 3/4 months to play regular football and come back in the summer to really push Coventry0
-
Can't see that happening, NJ clearly doesn't fancy him. I think it'll be a loan because we pay him too much money and it'll be hard to get him off our books.fenaddick said:Think he'll be a loan rather than perm so it's not as if he won't ever play again. I don't think it's impossible at all, he has the ability but clearly there's something NJ thinks he can improve. If he improves it out on loan there's no reason he can't have a fight in pre seasonChunes said:

The fact is, as was shown in the Crawley game, TT and CC can't play in the same team. Coventry's game improved markedly after TT was substituted.
IMO, Coventry A) has a higher ceiling and b) suits our game better.
And if you doubt that, look at our run of results in December, after Taylor was dropped.
I know on CL, it's usual to define our season on the last game, not the last 6, but basically the evidence is there for all to see. We're better with Coventry, and no TT, in the team.7 -
First TT being rested for next season, now he's being loaned for next season!fenaddick said:

No, being loaned to prove himself. The manager evidently doesn't think he's good enough yet but he can only improve by playing. It's not a hard concept to graspChunes said:

No, but he's also not said "he's not good enough so I'm getting rid of him completely".Chunes said:

NJ didn't play TT at all last season, tried to get rid of him in the summer, brought him in as a last resort to bring some life to our midfield, then shipped him out the squad again (without him even playing nearly as bad as the other midfielders), and now evidently is trying to get rid of him again.6 -
He isn't going to say anything until he's out the door at all. Regardless, he'll be gone and hopefully the money can be spent on a player NJ wants to playChunes said:

He will be being loaned to improve his value for a sale this summer. It’s clear we’ve wanted to get rid in the summer and now this month, and that Jones doesn’t want him. But clearly we haven’t been able to find someone to either pay the asking price or the wages he’s on, so hopefully a good loan increases the interest this summerfenaddick said:

I don’t get it.15

Good luck to him. Now we need to find a replacement who is as good with a set plays as TT is. Hardly anybody else in the squad can take a decent corner or free kick.fenaddick said:6 -
Did he play for us after my favourite game of his for us , when he got 2 assists for orient to get us knocked out of the shithouse let's get to wembley on the cheap shameful cup1

May I be the first to say he’ll be like a new signing when (if) he returns4
-
Been loaned so he's ready for next season1

That's the fourth of the deals by the time of the Bolton game I mentioned on another thread.
Annouced slightly late, however.2
