Following a pitch inspection at Deepdale, Saturday's Emirates FA Cup third-round tie against Preston North End has been postponed due to a frozen playing surface.
The tie will now be played on Tuesday, January 14th (KO 7.45pm GMT). Already-purchased tickets will remain valid for the rearranged date.
For information on claiming refunds, please email tickets@cafc.co.uk

so you got a few days to rearrange transport.0

Im sure you don't need me input now because of the announcement but this is one of the adjoining roads to Deepdale so I'm not surprised

The club really needs to publish how people can get refunds. It’s a small amount admittedly but they will get hundreds of enquiries and not publishing the arrangements is poor from any perspective.clive said:Following a pitch inspection at Deepdale, Saturday's Emirates FA Cup third-round tie against Preston North End has been postponed due to a frozen playing surface.

I've not seen anything about Crawley yet. Once a new date has been found for that, that'll be more refunds for that game as wellAirman Brown said:

I think the reason they don’t publish it is to make it more difficult for people to get them. I don’t agree but understand that with home games, but the revenue here is trivial.0
-
The club has just told me they can refund for Preston without the tickets being returned if people let them know, as Preston can cancel them at their end.6
-
They’ve published how to get refunds haven't they?0

Big fan of calling it off today. No point waiting until tomorrow and wasting everyone’s time.0

Good for the players too, as I assume they'd be travelling up this afternoonThe Red Robin said:Big fan of calling it off today. No point waiting until tomorrow and wasting everyone’s time.1 -
No, they have given an email address for information on claiming refunds. The Red Robin said:They’ve published how to get refunds haven't they?

I think it’s pedantic to say they haven’t informed people how to get a refund. It’s obvious you email and ask. How else should they do it?clive said:

Set out the process: “in order to obtain a refund, you will need to do x”, not invite them to ask you, which creates an extra stage of communication. The Red Robin said:

https://www.charltonafc.com/news/preston-cup-tie-rescheduledThe reason it’s not policy to do this is because the club knows, for home games in particular, the easier you make it the more people will claim their money back, especially if they otherwise assume it’s a process, involving returning tickets before the game.
Why else wouldn’t you set out exactly what people need to do? They don’t say, “to learn how to buy tickets please email the club”, do they?

I hope the club comms are going to mail out an educational leaflet giving guidance on how to travel on a coach !!! 😜clive said:After emailing the club enquiring about coach travel from Charlton to Preston on Tuesday, i would like to praise the ticket office staff for replying within a couple of hours & taking my booking over the phone for the rearranged journey, it is now possible to book the coach online, pick up times will be emailed to fans later.

It's the other stuff which you can't cancel, I was up here anyway, and have an advance ticket back from Preston tomorrow evening, so might as well "enjoy the sights" rather than paying more for a new ticket home...0 -
Or a game like Reading away and we might as well put a second string side out on Tuesday and concentrate on the two league games afterwards.Elthamaddick said:now watch us get a dream tie in the next round draw.......before getting smashed at Preston on the Tuesday night

I've just amended my tickets with Avanti. It was £72 for tomorrow and it's cost a further £49 on top to change to Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. Fingers crossed there's not another postponement.6
