Nothing to get excited about here. Norrie lost 6-2 6-3.0

Perhaps the most notable thing about the match was Norrie getting so angry he launched his racket into the crowd and it struck a spectator.
Stunned that he wasn’t disqualified and got away with just a warning.0

Maybe if it hadn't been match point then he would have been DQ, but yes it does seem every strange, bearing in mind previous incidents.Callumcafc said:Perhaps the most notable thing about the match was Norrie getting so angry he launched his racket into the crowd and it struck a spectator.

Cam Norrie’s conqueror Facundo Diaz has just beaten compatriot and world number 14 Sebastian Baez 6-4 7-60

Harriet Dart and Billy Harris through to the final qualifying round for the Australian Open.2
-
Initial draw has been made for Aus Open
Draper (15th seed) v Navone, Norrie v Berrettini, Fearnley v Kyrgios.
Draper has both Alcaraz and Djokovic in his quarter of the draw so a very tough path ahead to make it into the later rounds.
 Boulter (22nd seed) v Marino, Raducanu v Alexandrova (26th seed), Burrage v Qualifier, Kartal v Bouzas Maneiro1
-
Billy Harris lost the first set against Kamil Majchrzak. Unfortunately Harriet Dart was defeated by Nao Hibino in straight sets.0
-
Fearnley has got lucky with his first round draw at the Aussie Open - up against Kyrgios. Seems unlikely Kyrgios will be fully fit.
Norrie faces Berrettini and Draper plays Navone. Should be an easy enough game for Draper.0
-
Sonay Kartal beaten in straight sets in Round 1. Jodie Burrage through to Round 2 in straight sets.
Jack Draper scheduled on court in around two hours from now.2

A bit concerning to see Draper taken to 5 but I see his opponent is ranked 47fenaddick said:Draper won 4-6 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-2 after four hours. Fearnley is 2 sets (7-6, 6-3) up against Kyrgios who has had the trainer on0

Fearnley wins the tie break 7-2 to win 7-6 6-3 7-6 against a very hostile crowd, impressive performance3

Dart was a lucky loser and made the main draw after another player withdrew. She won her first round game in 3 long sets.Callumcafc said:Billy Harris lost the first set against Kamil Majchrzak. Unfortunately Harriet Dart was defeated by Nao Hibino in straight sets.3

            I can't abide Kyrgios1

Jodie Burrage also won - 4 out 4 Brit wins on day 20

I watched the first two sets. I had hoped he’d win it in four. He clearly took time to get up to speed after not seeing competitive action since October.PrincessFiona said:

Definitely tempered my expectations for the rest of the tournament. They weren’t that high to begin with because he’s got a very difficult draw.1

So it seems, but I really thought he was excellent - came across as intelligent, insightful, humorous and very surprisingly astonishingly self-effacingfenaddick said:

Thought he would beat Navone with ease - Navone has been in poor form. I wonder if Draper is fully fit.Callumcafc said:

Her loss was on day 1 I think, but it's splitting hairs, she lost either way. 4/5 still a decent start, hopefully Norrie and Boulter can add to thisCallumcafc said:

Draper has a history of being a tennis equivalent to Chuks so who knows?hoof_it_up_to_benty said:
