Would be thrilled if it was that soon. I've sort of written him off for the season based purely on how it looked and a lack of information

Be telling if we try to get a Right-Back on loan in January

“Kayne is a lot closer than he was before,” said Jones. “We have had some good news, and he's out there running. That's a good thing, he's not as far away as people may think. It's a frustrating one as he was in such good form for us and was a big part of what we did. He provided us that balance on the right-hand side.

Yes great news to hear but I will be much happier once I see his name on the team sheet. Just hope it doesn't now drift for a while and he is back in January.......2025!

I know people get very weird about non-left footers playing on the left but if he could manage it I'd be very interested to see if Alex Mitchell can switch to LCB so Ramsay can play RCB and Small continue on as RWB. I think it has the potential to really improve our game

Or Small LWB with Edwards centre back? Small has done well on the right but his shooting when cutting in is pretty awful.

I noticed Watson in that clip too. Does that mean we now have no first teamer squad members in the treatment room?

    This would be my choice

    LWB: Small

LCB: Edwards (tall and good in the air for a full back, better defensively than he is going forward and would allow us to play out from the back better than with Gillesphey)

    CB: L Jones

    RCB: Mitchell

    RWB: Ramsay

When 5 players get season ending injuries this afternoon, I'm blaming you for cursing us with that comment!

I think Small has found his position at RWB and I'd be very disappointed if we moved him when he's hit this kind of form. He's only just turned 20, so I don't think we should expect him to have great end product just yet. He has been stretching teams and going past people for fun, much to our general benefit, even if he's not adding goals and assists yet. I hope we keep him there.

Got no issue with him staying there but don't see why it would change if he went to the left? He's confident at the moment so would still stretch teams and go past people.

Agree, moving him gives me vibes of 11/12 when some wanted a midfield of Green Stephens Hollands Jackson. The best midfield on paper wasn’t effective due to the lack of pace - the balance wasn’t right, and the same could happen here.

TC is better drifting wide left where he can shoot or cross, I don’t think he’d be as effective from the right.

He can cut inside on his stronger foot on the right, which makes him hard to play against. Defenders try to show him down the outside on his weaker foot. But when they do that, he just bursts past them with his pace. If they show him inside, he's playing off his stronger foot.

On the left he'd be cutting onto his weaker foot and running into other players where that acceleration isn't so handy. Much easier to defend against because his threat is mostly down one side rather than both.

He's basically an inverted winger at wingback.

I'd much rather try Edwards LCB and Ramsay back at RWB than playing 3 players out of position in Mitchell, Ramsay and Small

Do get what you're saying, I just think of when he signed and how effective he was on the left. Didn't appear to be any issue with acceleration then. If there needs to be a place for Ramsey then I guess it all depends on whether Mitchell could adapt to the left side of the 3.
