Brought my mate tonight who is a Chelsea fan, he’s been before and couldn’t believe how bad we are! No attack or defence was his summary of our team 😂

Would be very easy to cut and paste the post match summary from any one of our recent league games.

15 mins of huff and puff, midfield disappears, opposition score and we start punting it to no one. Get back into it, goal keeping howler and our manager responds by bringing strikers off and defenders on.

Jones is managing like a spoilt brat, he thinks he knows best and it is everyone else who is wrong. He has no clue, no tactics and no game plan. The performances he is getting out of this squad of players are disgraceful. These are his players, we were told they were his choices and he still serving up disjointed, pathetic anti football hoofball week after week.

I actually think the money men might intervene here and sack Jones over the heads of Rodwell and Co.

I don't think I can watch anymore of this. Someone said on the match thread that it was like self harming, it is worse than that imo. Self harm has (however strange it might seem to others) a point to it.

How can the coaching staff justify putting Leaburn out there? He looked so far from fit tonight it was farcical.

It would be interesting to see how many times we put more than 3/4 forward passes together tonight. I don't believe it would be many. The long punts and diaganal hoofs are under instruction and for that to be a manger's sole tactic in this day and age is quite frankly embarassing. You could sort of understand the diagonal balls if we had someone who could run the channels in the side - we don't though and we are so narrow that you could thread our midfield through the eye of a needle.

I allowed myself to think results were turning and that we were a little unlucky at Huddersfield, but I am no longer buying it. We beat Bromely reserves, struggled past an utterly woeful 10 man Burton and beat Walsall reserves. The league results and performances are nowhere near good enough. I would go as far as to say I cannot remember the last time a Charlton team has served up such consistently appalling dross week after week.

There is no sign of improvement, it's getting worse by the week. The players haven't bought into the tactics either. Given that we were told we would be athletic and aggressive this season it is quite alarming how many times we watch our midfield blowing out of their arses from 75 mins.

Other than hystreonics there is no leadership from the touch line and a complete lack of leaders on the pitch.

I have said in previous weeks and will say it again, we are not a couple of players away from the top 6, we are miles away, 5 or 6 players imo.

If the board don't act now the season will be gone (it might well be already) and we are at real risk of getting sucked into yet another scrape with relegation.
    Well said.

I want to say our tactics are wrong, but we don’t seem to have any.
Godden - only 2 touches all game
Leaburn - looks disinterested prob going in Jan
    A Campbell - brings nothing
WehadMay - the only header he won was unchallenged for our goal
    Coventry - he’s no Dobbo
The rest - average at best

its a low point and Nathan has lost the fans’ goodwill now, so it’s only a matter of time.
  • One of the worst Charlton performances I've seen. The football was dreadful and the manager clueless. It was embarrassing to watch.

Poor all over the pitch. Not much to add on what’s already been said. Thought Mitchell and Edwards were really poor tonight too. Mitchell boots every single clearance out of touch unnecessarily

We must have been bad, even our Ronnie hasn't bothered to defend that.

Back in the (Premiership) day, I risked life, limb and marriage heading to must-see games in December,  notably the Boxing Day Chelsea win.  Yes I had other options and engagements,  but hey, it was a big game.

Tonight I handed my season ticket to @AddicksAddict and said "see you on the 29th".  I've literally got better things to do on the 14th and 26th, and this shower does not warrant an ounce of inconvenience.

  • I don’t normally listen to his post match waffle but I might make an exception tonight

If we are going to get a new manager, why not somebody like Robbie. Young, hungry and knows the club. That is the template that works for us historically.

  • What's wrong with Leaburn, guess one of the following:
    1: not match fit
    2: carrying an injury
3: fed up with playing in a crap team
4: has lined up a move and doesn't want to get injured

    I reckon 4 with a bit of 3
I think it's worse. It's a bad work-place where no one really wants to come to work.

No-one has any friends that lighten the load. There are cliques and probably a couple of dysfunctional types. These guys used to enjoy their football. Not any more. Patently obvious, even though the causes are not. They looked brittle again tonight from what little i saw, in the closing stages. Crawley were relaxed as our lot seemed to get more up tight. That second goal was coming. Lovely play from a Crawley POV.

People talk about a Charlton curse. Actually that's a real thing and it's the culture that has become embedded and compounded under Jones, and this SMT. We are a boiled frog.

Will just be the same scripted shit anyways, about us not being aggressive or front footed

    So poor.

Had the chance to get back into sight of the playoffs tonight at home v a poor side and we come away 4 points off the relegation zone.

Forgetting that Leaburn was shite, his body language was so negative and I think we need an explanation.

I actually think Jones makes Adahme look a worse player than he actually is. That’s how bad NJ is.

Losing a home league game to Crawley? Is that an all time low?

They wanted it more. We weren’t up for it at all.

Our strikers won’t score many goals with this style of play.

Centre backs get criticised for all the hoof ball. They shouldn’t be getting criticised. They’re just following the managers instructions.

Nathan Jones looking and smiling at the crowd every time there was disgruntlement. That was winding me up as well.

Don’t think he’s got much more time. Thankfully. This is dreadful to watch.

Think we got the system wrong first half and we never really recovered from  it not sure why we changed from Saturday but it was clear it was not working ..and changes should have been made after 30 mins… but you can’t plan for a individual error AMB  got to better for their second ..
  • AMB should have easily held that shot, who the fuck is the goalkeeping coach, useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
