Imagine playing for a manager who just squawks and shrieks on the touchline. Compare his demeanour with Elliott’s tonight. Seems the players have reached the point where it’s just white noise now and there seems little cohesion between players and manager.
Wonder if the players that aren't ex Luton have completely sussed him out like Stoke and Southampton did....
Typifies everything wrong under Jones. 4th biggest budget in the league vs one of the lowest budgets in the league, yet we’re the ones hoofing it forward while they ping it around us like they’re Barcelona. Subs and tactics were all absolute nonsense and it felt like he was keeping A Campbell on to make a point in the end.
That reaction from the crowd and his reaction to the crowd felt almost identical to Appleton’s last game, with the SMT all watching down ominously from the directors box. Don’t think he’ll be sacked in the very near future, but it’s over.
A desperately poor performance on an evening which epitomises our rank position. No shape, no quality, no ideas. Players who are clearly not up to it (that's you Allan) get starts regardless, because alternatives are nonexistent.
We ended up with Lloyd Jones up front. Need I say more. But what does Jones do, and would a new manager be the answer (I think not).
Only hope is that Jones rethinks our entire approach and set-up, which is unlikely as he is stubborn/'proud' and options are thin. Instead we'll tinker and give the underwhelming Docherty another go...
We are devoid of any class or style. The common theme is to play anti-football and hope that there is a fluke goal and we get lucky and they don't score. Neither of those scenarios are happening enough for Jones to be successful.
I don't think Jones will be sacked as the club probably can't afford another manager pay-off.
The conundrum is what will be the January plan. Strengthen or bump along the bottom until the summer when Jones buys more journeymen that play at 5mph and have poor skill to match.
We are crying out for a keeper, midfield playmaker, goalscorer.
Looking at the way sulky Leaburn walked through the first half without putting an ounce of effort in , i wouldn't be surprised if Jones has lost the dressing room.
After thinking long and hard, reflecting on that performance, and trying to be as objective as I can, I can only conclude that we are a SHOWER OF SHIT.
Sack Jones - and he can take most of the team with him. The worst I've seen in over 60 years of supporting the club and I think I'm pretty much done with it all.
Being buzzed around the park by Crawley (and no disrespect to Crawley they played well and deserved the win) has got to be a new low, and there have been quite a few over the last 15 years
If we were grinding out results you’d sort of forgive him but I’m closer to the trigger for Jones than ever at the moment
We got a result against a very poor Burton team but that was painful, our record is awful at Lincoln and then the games come thick and fast, it could get seriously worse yet
That wasn’t football it was awful shite. Alan Campbell is not a footballer and when I saw him in the line up I knew no football, could be played , long ball was the only way and jones must go now as he is clueless .
Worse league performance I’ve seen in 40 years of support - and that’s saying something in recent times.
Constantly, CONSTANTLY hitting it long mostly without aiming for a target. No plan. No game intelligence. Aimlessly heading the ball back from where it came, not taking it down and passing.
When we should have been dominating in the last 15m, Crawley suddenly realised we were just lumping it into their centre halves hoping for the best and started passing it, grew in confidence and scored. Feeble and embarrassing. We’re a terrible team made up of good players - and that’s on Jones.
Good players? Ramsay and Jones are good players. Some of the others are ok, some are mediocre, and some are league two level, sadly.
Get Jones out but please get Scott and Methven out too. Do we really trust them with another appointment. No one will come here while they are still at the club, it’ll be another desperate Appleton style hire.
If I was managing against us, I would ensure I always had bodies in our defensive third. The team that Charlton started with could only play through us and not get behind us so you can mark them out the game and then rely on them giving you a goal or scoring from a good shot.
Where we (Charlton now) do better is when teams try to beat us. This is a mistake, don't try to beat us, we will generally beat ourselves, just stop us which isn't that hard to do.
Leaburn looked like he had the flu. What is going on there.
Thourghly deserved win....we are just awful...every week almost it gets worse...AMB was their best asset. Crap ref and an even worse manager...where we go from here who knows.
Absolute garbage of a performance. It's not even the result that stings most of all, it's being outplayed by Crawley that shows how inept we are, and how dreadful the football we are playing.
We have an academy training players to pass and press, and play progressive, attacking football, but a first team playing hoofball. Bad hoofball.
Has a Charlton side ever played such poor football?
Another aimless display of dice rolling. So many brainless players. We have a forward line that should be making keepers sweat but the service they get is beyond awful.
Injuries haven't helped us. Jones and Ramsay are huge misses but the midfield makes me want to puke. Taylor and Coventry are clearly two very decent and capable players and Taylors delivery is always good and threatening but there is just no cohesion or hint of a plan.
I don't know, we now need to find a Pirlo in the transfer window and a robust right back mot to mention a reliable, solid keeper
It's not just NJ but also the SMT - they recruited him and gave him a long contract. The owners should intervene sack the lot and bring in a director of football to oversee a new regine
If we do truly have the fourth highest playing budget in L1, then the owners should quite rightly be asking serious questions about the capabilities of the club and team management.
Initial thoughts. Not blaming AMB. He saved the shots ffs ! Blame the players in front of him who let Crawley shoot. He made a double save in the second half to keep us in it at the time.
League 1. There are 3 teams at the top pulling away & 3 at the bottom starting to be cut adrift. As we wont make top 6 we have to concern ourselves with the bottom end if the table. Looks like it might be 1 from about a dozen clubs who could finish 21st. Just dont let it be us. Problem is we cant score & dont have any width or creativity. If we let in the first goal we dont win. That cant continue.
Leaburn needs to be benched. Kanu needs to start.TC, Small & Dixon all need to feature. 2 out of 3 start with the other on the bench. Berry comes straight back in as does Jones
As for Jones (N). Couldn't give a flying fuck anymore. Managers are 2 a penny. None have a clue anyway. I couldn't do a worse job & I'm seen as a joke on here. What does that make the manager ?

indeed times have changed but your conversation tonight would be interesting.
It's been obvious to a blind man for weeks now that something is seriously wrong. And that thing is our clueless clown of a manager.
Tonight was the absolute final straw for me. No width, no pace just hoff it up front and chase. His tactics were just abysmal.
Tonights result was no fluke. Crawley totally deserved their win. They played football.
If Jones hasn't gone by tomorrow morning I despair.

Those who run the club, fuck off.

Why bother with any of it anymore.
It's all just garbage.
