It might be the fact we have only had two wins from the last 12 league games.JaShea99 said:
Exactly. I never understand the meltdowns after results against teams you’d never expect us to beat or even take a point off anyway.Manic_mania said:If you asked me before the season started if we would even get a point away to Huddersfield i'd have said maybe but probably not. Even if we were in the top 2.23 -
I’ve offered my 6 back to the club and I’ve not sold any so far , anyone else had any joy?Oh Eddie Youds... said:Anyone know how the half season ticket sales are going?!7 -
How many of the managers we have got rid of in recent seasons have gone on to do anything worthwhile after they've left? We really do find some duds...9

Just look what happened at Saints & Stoke, different level maybe but didn't last long at either. I did actually think he was a very good signing for us but I now think the opposite. I didn't & never will get the selling of Alfie May but even worse was signing Gas, even when we were just linked with him I said he was not good enough but further down the line when Jones was just signing his mates this team & tactics or should I say lack of them has just become a joke.Fortune 82nd Minute said:
Yup. But don't dare say the manager is crap. Apparently, we need stability and can't keep changing managers.SELR_addicks said:In League One fixtures:
0 wins in the previous 5 games.
1 win in the previous 9 games.
Lose to Burton on Tuesday - and I can see that happening - and hopefully even the people who come out with this stuff will realise that Jones just struck lucky at Luton and is now a busted flush.8 -
Haha you think it isn't already ?agim said:Anything but a win on Tuesday now and it could be curtains for the season.1 -

....*replacement scores the same number of goals in the same number of games
****shocked pikachu face*****
*baffled we are now re-writing history that Ahadme was the replacement when it was Godden - Ahadme was the partner we were shouting out for last year not a replacement....1 -
But we all said that at the very beginning of the season, ok 3 wins obviously papered over that but it was apparent that we had no playmakers in the team, it was hoofball. If we can all see that why didn't/can't Jones. More goals, well he said we might not agree or be happy with some of his decisions but it will make us a better performing team, Alfie has gone, we made no contact with Dobbo when his Hungarian adventure was over & we are an absolute pile of shit. Jones needs to go, I have no idea who we can get to replace him that's down to our wonderful SMT who are only here for a wage. I don't want a constant churn of managers but at this rate I'm not sure that there are 4 teams playing as shit as us.MuttleyCAFC said:We have to stick with Jones because we already know the constant sackings are not helping us. He has done it before so he needs to work it out but can do it again. I think he needs a bit more flair and more goals in the team.0 -
12 months ago, Dobbo was doing the graft in midfield and May was nicking goals. Now nobody is grafting in midfield and some players are nicking a living.18
-
Lets just put it into perspective Man City lost 5 in a row and there putting that down to missing one player..... I think with our injury crisis and the fact in this league you can easily put 3/4 wins together think we have to stay calm... There no one better then Jones at present and he only had one window to balance this squad.. Think he needs another two... stability is the key can't keep changing.…..the board backed Jones with all the players he wanted and will do again to much investment been made to throw it out the window so early in the season...

There was plenty of graft in the midfield today, 2nd half especially. Quality not so much...1

All this talk of budgets is bollocks, what budget do Wycombe,Exeter,Lincoln,Stockport and Mansfield have,a damn sight less than ours ,I bet.We sell league 1 equivalent of Harry Kane,Rodri and Vinicius Jr.and spend more on their replacements who turn out to be a load of duds.I bet if we had Guardiolas budget we would still fuck it up.11

What a time to be alive!SELR_addicks said:Any talk of sacking/removing Jones is premature until we are genuinely panicking about going down.
Give him the season, if we finish bottom half then say goodbye in the summer.
Charlton athletic, never stop being you x2 -
It’s shocking when you see it like that.shirty5 said:2 league wins in the last 12 for Charlton Athletic now10 points from those games3 -
Rinse repeat.Laddick01 said:Even Karel Fraeye thinks Jones is a football terrorist.Another season of being absolutely shite. Bring on 25/26 with a different manager.1 -
Did somebody shoot him before he had the chance to finish ?RonnieMoore said:Another one of our games where key moment goes against us.. Sending of at 1-1 swings the momentum back to them...think we deserved something from the game... Leaburn, Ahadme good chances.… we move on and the good thing is we are still only 7 points of play6 -
I’m not arguing to get rid of NJ, but …
- is he up to the job?
- does he want to be our manager?
What he did at Luton has no relevance now.
All I see are bad signings, poor tactics and a very angry man who seems to look for excuses when his decisions turn out bad.
I watched the game today and we were poor in the first half and only a little better in the second.
His selections are also bizarre - why drop Taylor and Dixon and pick Hylton [who is WAY past his best] ahead of them ?
My own take is that he wants out.

”We lost the game due to certain deficiencies that were at the football club last season….and are still here now”.
If we go back 12 months to the 25th of November, our squad of 18 contained just 3 players that were in our squad today: AMB, Leaburn and TC (a sub both times).
So what does he mean by that? It clearly isn’t player specific if 83% of the squad is different and we now lay a completely different tactical style of football?45 -
We won our first 2 very unconvincingly. First game with a goal in the 81st minute & the 2nd with a goal in injury time.msomerton said:

If those had been drawn & not won we would be one place off the relegation zone by courtesy of GD.1 -

The buck stops with the board
They persuaded investors they were geniuses who could half our losses whilst building a promotion winning team.
From the CEO who couldn't get Sunderlsnd promoted with parachute payments from the Premier League!
Management of the club have no clue. The club will go nowhere whilst they are in charge.

Just watched the post match NJ interview, the man should stop wearing rose tinted glasses during games, a man so out of touch.1

Yes all true, but NJ has done a lot to shape this squad.supaclive said:The buck stops with the board

cannot Score Goals and never take chances.

I've been wondering when he'd have to change the narrative. He always said it's his fault if we're not performing, "I picked the wrong team" etc. Then it was the injuries, now it looks like he's moving on to blame the 'heritage.'AFKABartram said:Jones said after:

Need to beat Burton & Crawley. By hook or by crook...we need the 6 points from those games.9
-
My view is that fans should expect a Charlton athletic team to beat Div 3 teams and challenge for promotion. That’s the point. The fact that we don’t beat them or don’t expect to beat them is not the fans’ fault, it’s a barometer of how far we have fallen and a sign we are accepting that as a norm. We should expect and certainly deserve better than the shit served up over the last 4 years. I’m good with people being disappointed/cheesed off, it means they care and want better, and it’s not just Huddersfield, is it? Last 10 games we are equal 2nd bottom of the form guide, that’s relegation form.JaShea99 said:
