Pretty sure I caught a glimpse of him in the tunnel with crutches and a knee brace. Probably precautionary but I’m not feeling confident

Injured in the first half an hour or so and still managed to get a minutes comp out of it

He was standing in the tunnel with crutches and braces signing autographs, and getting involved in how the match was going. Would imagine if it was more serious they wouldn't allow him to do that.

A knee brace and crutches sounds quite serious to me, although i guess probably just precautionary.

Doesn't really mean anything though, Rodri walked off the pitch v Arsenal and was then pictured a couple of days later walking normally through Barcelona airport on his way to see a specialist. A lot of people were saying 'can't be that bad if he's walking fine and without crutches'. He was then announced as out for the season.

So what’s the guess, 6-8 weeks out?

An Absolute gutter, he’s been class this season, we seem to be stockpiling injuries by the week.

We had 15 players out injured in November, the season we got relegated from the championship, the squad is going to get tested to the full.

NJ might be tempted to slot Reg in there, but wonder if he will be thinking of recalling Nathan Asimwe from
his loan spell, question is how much game time has he had, and is he quite ready for the first team, or does he need to stay on loan?

Asiimwe has had hardly any game time at Hartlepool, he missed both Fa Cup games because Charlton did not want him cup tied & was an unused sub in yesterdays draw at Maidenhead.

We have Watson and REG that can play there, however REG was also the centre back cover yesterday, and Jones likes to have a utility player as cover on the bench. If REG starts, expect Potts and Watson to be on the bench, if Watson starts, expect Small and REG to be on the bench. That way he can cover all across the backline with 2 players.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zach Mitchell makes the bench as cover for centre back and defensive midfield, freeing REG to play RB.

Was just about to lay into REG on the match thread yesterday then he scored, so he's decent in my book

Hope he is not out for too long as he seems quite a find from Harrogate imho.

Can you maybe think of some really crushing criticism of Ahadme too just in case we need to bring him on? Its got to be worth trying....  ;)
  • Have a horrible feeling he has done his cruciate, having done it twice myself the way his knee hyper-extended looked very familiar.

Sitting nearby I think he was struggling with the outside of his knee, so I'd guess the LCL, but definitely a ligament. He was in severe pain, tears and aware of the severity of the injury.

Shame for all as he's a joy to watch!

It's going to be bad, could tell by his reaction, you don't act like that unless you know something is up. Well, unless you're a Blackpool player.

Gutted tbh, looked a standout player, and that's probably most of his season finished. I thought our bad luck was used up on Edwards for a bit, that's now 2 of our very decent backline gone within the space of two weeks.

I wouldn’t be against Asiimwe being recalled and getting a chance but Jones will probably stick with REG for now with Watson as the alternative

Hope that isn’t true about Ramsay. REG played well on Saturday so deserves to keep the spot ahead of Watson/Asiimwe

I honestly expect REG to keep his spot on the bench as utility defender and Watson to start.

Watson starting feels me with dread.
  • There was a moment in the game where he landed and to me his knee seemed to almost bend back a bit. I was surprised that he carried on at the time. I think the damage was done there.

Obviously WIOTOS and such, but I wouldn't be surprised given how he went down. It would be such a shame, he's been an absolute credit to us. I like him better at FB than I do at WB too so the timing would be a shame. That being said, REG looked alright, and Watson looked much better under Jones last season so we have cover. It's just a tough blow to lose our best/joint best (with Coventry) player this season.

Watson improved a lot last season after Jones came in, to be fair, but he's not my favourite payer, shall we say. I thought REG did alright on Saturday and possibly even got forward and crossed the ball a bit more than Ramsay has tended to. He looked the most like-for-like replacement for Ramsay as he is quick and physically strong but also not too bad on the ball (not as good as Ramsay, but he's not a disaster either).

I like Asimwe a lot and think he's going to be a good player, but he has struggled a bit at first team level, so far, in my opinion. I think getting games on loan is still what's best for him at the moment.

Asiimwe not even getting regular game time at Hartlepool, an unused sub on Saturday.

141 minutes this season in the National League doesn't really suggest like Asiimwe is the answer. If he was tearing it up then i'd agree but if he's not even doing well two levels down, then why would we recall him and give him a chance?
