We’ll probably leave him there, but a lack of game time doesn’t always mean a young player isn’t good enough, especially defenders.Colchester changed manager and stopped playing Zach Mitchell in L2, now Jones rates him enough to keep him here rather than loan him out again.Konsa didn’t nail down a first choice position with us, spent time at CB, RB and in midfield. He then left for Brentford at a higher level, started more games for them than us and was one of their first choice CBs.2

Think you’re clutching at straws there. Mitchell hasn’t proven anything, and the fact Konsa was an established first choice player being moved around positions at that age is if anything suggestive of his talent to work out where he could help us most rather than just playing in his natural Position. And quite frankly if he was anywhere near the level at the moment, Hartlepool would likely be doing the same with asiimwe , I expectScoham said:We’ll probably leave him there, but a lack of game time doesn’t always mean a young player isn’t good enough, especially defenders.Colchester changed manager and stopped playing Zach Mitchell in L2, now Jones rates him enough to keep him here rather than loan him out again.Konsa didn’t nail down a first choice position with us, spent time at CB, RB and in midfield. The Addicks are set to be without Kayne Ramsay (knee), Lloyd Jones (leg), Gassan Ahadme (chest) and Chuks Aneke (groin) for Tuesday's trip to Oakwell.

Any word on how long he is out for?0
-
Well we've had claims of weeks apparently from Methven and someone else claiming a physio has said it was an ACL which would be the season gone. So to answer your question, no!cafcsinger said:Any word on how long he is out for?
EDIT: as pointed out, the tweet mentioned Jones not Ramsay0 -
The tweet (now deleted) mentioning weeks was about Jones, not Ramsay (no mention of him if the tweet is what you’re referring to).fenaddick said:

Yes good point. That's the problem with deleting tweets, our memories can fail! Suspect it's the ACL then and he's done for the seasonScoham said:

Ironically, when I would always have guessed Ramsay, I think that Jones could be a bigger miss. Mitchell doesnt look half the player with Gillesphey next to him.10

Do you mind, that's Nathan's favourite technician you're referring to there.DamoNorthStand said:Ironically, when I would always have guessed Ramsay, I think that Jones could be a bigger miss. Mitchell doesnt look half the player with Gillesphey next to him.1 -
Surely Ramsay has had a scan and we should know the result?0

Tbf, you could say the same for Mitchell helping Jones. Jones looks far more assured with Mitchell next to him than when he featured with anyone else last season.DamoNorthStand said:Ironically, when I would always have guessed Ramsay, I think that Jones could be a bigger miss. I think they both compliment eachothers flaws fairly well. The sooner Jones is back, the better, no one is on his level as an aerial presence at the club.7 -
Been told He’s now waiting to see a specialist, whatever that means!1

If he sees anyone like my specialist (Sam Rajaratnam) then he's in incredibly good hands000__Jaaaaay__000 said:Been told He’s now waiting to see a specialist, whatever that means!0 -
I reckon it means he is waiting to see a specialist!000__Jaaaaay__000 said:Been told He’s now waiting to see a specialist, whatever that means!7 -
Specialist sounds like surgery.4

Not a name I ever imagined reading on here. I work in analytics and when I started out I had a job at one of the places he worked which sometimes included putting together analysis broken down by consultant.sam3110 said:

One of the directors found out I supported us and told me when she was a nurse she looked after Richard Murray’s wife when she was ill.0 -
With how shit our countries health care system is, that's definitely him out for the this season then000__Jaaaaay__000 said:Been told He’s now waiting to see a specialist, whatever that means!1 -

Looked more MCL to me0

One thing that is obvious with NJ is that he gives minimal public info about player injuries which I find quite understandable12

Lol, he will be dealt with privately not on the NHS.Braziliance said:

Injury described as “not good” and “not weeks” which suggests he’s out for a good chunk of the season

Jones also gave the latest on Kayne Ramsay: "IIt’s not a good injury; no injuries are good, but it's not real positive news. We're waiting for a diagnosis in terms of time scales. It’s not an easy injury where he will be back in a few weeks. That is a blow for the boy firstly and for us as he's been in such good form.”

Big shame. The knee is a complicated joint and just avoiding an ACl tear, does not equate to good news.
He overextended his knee with full distribution of his weight, and I can only presume a lot of stress to a few components of the knee (sadly).
His feints and shimmies are a real plus, but the brain and body were disconnected for a millisecond, leading to bad injury.2 -
Why is it always the good ones that seem to get these long term injuries? Whole new medical department and they're still dropping like flies. Cursed.
Get well soon, Kayne.11 -
Comfortably our best and most consistent player so far this season so that's a right kick in the nuts.10

Very true Charltonism that Exiled.Exiled_Addick said:Why is it always the good ones that seem to get these long term injuries? Whole new medical department and they're still dropping like flies. Cursed.

We have had enough deadly duds over the last 10 years, but it is always the promising players that get crocked long term.2
