  • Watching that calamity I’m actually worried about relegation. Were effing dreadful.

Jones took over and sorted out an awful, poorly coached defence in a side with a half decent attack. Since doing that, he has gradually made us worse, instigated the sale of our best player , awful man management evident on other occasions notably Small, one of the few bright lights of last season, now out of the squad, we have an awful formation no system nothing, that performance was effing atrocious and after the warning of saturday he made no attempt at all to change it.

Jones can’t even criticise the players, they’re following his instructions in that first half and it is grotesque and entirely ineffective.

He has such a long contract there’s not a chance they’ll boot him, I mean please god Cardiff come calling..

Play your winger up front if your winger is Thierry Henry, otherwise just don’t ffs

I genuinely think there should be a club ban on signing players aged over 26
  • I said when we sold May that Jones would live or die by that decision and if it all went wrong, he'd be gone by Christmas.

Well it's all gone wrong and if there isn't a major improvement soon he'll be gone a lot sooner than Christmas.

I genuinely can't believe he forced May out and replaced him with Ahadme. I said only a few games ago he is a complete dud. Anyone want to try and convince me otherwise tonight?

Awful. Don’t let those two late goals paper over it.

Going backwards at an alarming rate. Dont lose sight of the fact Rovers had lost 4 in a row, 5 in 6z

Serious questions need to be asked.
This is actually a crumb of comfort for me... 35 years I've been watching us get turned over by shit teams in shit form regardless of how good/bad we are. Even when we won Division One we still managed to lose our only home game all season to a Swindon side that got relegated.

It'd be absolutely typical of us to beat Birmingham next week before going back to being utter turd again.

    It does look grim though.

Just to be clear, we got beaten by only one goal but remember this was against a very poor team who made us look like mugs for most of the game. The midfield, in whichever combination, is lacking in energy, skill and pace. The forwards are shot shy and the defence has become porous. It looks as much like a relegation team as other poor sides we have had over the past years.
A bad defeat to Brum and Jones will likely lose his job, and deserve to, having sold our top scorer and signed all these crap players and put them in an utterly tedious and ineffective team structure.
    Awful.
Can't see him losing his job after Saturday,  I'm sure the expectation was a loss even before the last 3 results.
He's here for a while yet I imagine.

I reckon it can be turned, just not sure a man who starts Watson has what it takes to turn it. A man who can see the attack is a major issue and just rearranges the deck chairs. A man who when our defence was winning us games drops one of them after a victory. I could go on. Something badly wrong with his judgement. It didn't result in a goal but Watson should have headed a ball away and chested it instead, saw that sort of shit from him too many times last season. We have a rest on the 12th. Dropping Ramsay was mad! I think his selections point to him rowing with players.

Think results early in the season made us think we were better than we are, the only really good performance came against Bolton all the other results we just managed to nick, sadly tonight looks our level, our midfield lacks creativity and our only tactic seems to be to lump 40 yard passes up to whoever happens to be unlucky enough to be playing up front.

Is anyone actually surprised we lost. The performances so far have been awful even the games we have won haven't been great.

Birmingham will have a field day Saturday... Fs May have pity on us.
  • Well, Charlton TV's monthly show should be "fun" tomorow night !

    But Bromley Addick's Q & A on Thursday even better !

Ipswich fans were laughing, saying we'd had our pants pulled down. The recruitment has been appalling yet again.
  • Abysmal up until the last ten minutes, when it was too late.

Positives: Leaburn is back and looked lively, though a bit rusty. Edwards takes a better corner than Coventry.
    Negatives: the rest
  • Unacceptable first half. Completely agree with Brownie in expecting a reaction to the previous defeats, with a performance full of passion and effort, and we got none of that.

Rovers were on a terrible run, and low in confidence. Attack them, harry them, press them, and there was a good chance they would concede. Instead we made it incredibly easy for them for 70 minutes. For all the issues with Ahadme who looks out of his depth, the service he got was appalling. Aneke's cross to Godden was the one bit of quality we produced all night, we are so ordinary to watch, with a desperate lack of guile.

At the start of the season we were insipid in attack, but solid at the back, so we ground out positive results. Now we are leaky at the back as well, and don't have the attacking guile to offset this.
  • They say after 10 games gives an idea of what the season will be.  10th game saturday but think last couple and our current league position says enough already.

    Groundhog day. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    @TellyTubby shared some insight on the preview thread when he saw the team coach arrive tonight;

    TellyTubby said:
Just arrived as the team decanted the bus. Good news was that Miles is here. Bad news was that the body language was dreadful. All looked as though they had all had a barny, or a roasting, not sure why obviously.

Taylor and zach should st least be on the bench Saturday. Can’t be worse than tonight. Coventry doesn’t pass forward because he can see no-one is available but he is our best midfielder.

Utter dross, utter shite and an utter disgrace.

    Pathetic
  • Sack Jones, then what? New manager, but eventually the same shit. Rinse and repeat. This has been the cycle since Bowyer left. The owners have backed Jones, he got the players he wanted, but look where that got us.

There are some things in this world that are beyond the comprehension of us mortals, things like fate and fortune. I believe what is happening to us is written in the stars and there's bugger all anyone can do about. Only question is, how much longer will it last?

Don't sack Jones. Even Pep couldn't overcome the forces that oppose us at this time. The club is beyond help, but eventually providence will turn and better times will return. Just like it did for Brentford, but only after decades of mediocrity in the 3rd and 4th divisions.

Is Zach still injured? If not I'd just start him.

I imagine anyone looking at the stats will think we played well...

One of the first times, it has been really obvious that the stats don't paint the full picture for me.
