Just completely at a loss. Probably be another formation and player roulette for Saturday but I just can't see how this miraculously improves. Hopefully Godden at least gets a start Saturday.
Godden started at the weekend but if we just hoof balls to him and give no service there's no point. Hopefully he's up there with Leaburn if fit enough.

I'm not given to hyperbole but that was absolutely shameful. Utter, utter tripe. Predictable, pedestrian, sunday league style hoofball. No guile, no intelligence, no pace.

Ahadme has had a lot of chances and has failed to make any impact at all. Time for an extended period on the sidelines.

Embarrassing rubbish. We're going to get humiliated by Birmingham on Saturday unless there is a massive and rapid improvement.

Rovers had only scored 3 all season. They have as crap a forward line as us, but also dodgy defence, hence we were able to score 2.

This is 2 bottom of the table sides showing how bad they are, with a couple of worldies thrown in.

Where does Jones start to explain that performance making it 3 losses on the bounce.

We are in free fall and the season cannot be allowed to be over for another year in October. Already in previous seasons the button was pressed.

This team wasn't really showing the fans that they are doing things the Jones way. Has he lost the dressing room? His face says he absolutely cares, but he needs to show his worth in wins, because the football has been pretty awful all season so far.
  • I sound like a broken record, but the whole malaise of the club over the last few seasons, including this one is a piss poor midfield. We can't control a game with our current midfielders. Shame came in for a great deal of stick on the match thread, but he isn't getting any service.
We are also weak out wide, where delivery has been poor, and corner and free kick delivery continues to be absolutely pants.
Until the midfield is sorted, we will continue to struggle.

Same as I’ve put on the previous 2 losses.
Wrong starting 11 (drop Kayroy, Wehadmay, and Tennai)
Wrong tactics (play out from back doesn’t work, and use Tyreece as a pure winger)
    No leadership on the field.

  • Never fear. Fish, Bartlett and Andy Hunt will be back for the Birmingham game.

Honestly I'd take the punt on Leaburn assuming nothing comes up post tonight. Need someone that can at least occupy Bielik on Saturday, he'll dominate anyone else we have striker wise.

    Ahadme is not good enough
Campbell is not a striker. He’s a very decent winger at this level.
    Godden should be starting.
Our wingbacks do not provide the necessary attacking threat that justifies playing this formation.
Im not saying that he will make wholesale changes but something like this?

                                    Mannion
    Ramsay           Mitchell     Jones        Edwards

                          Coventry     Docherty

           Godden              Berry               Campbell

                                    Leaburn

Not sure if it’s a decent idea or not but feeling pretty numb after that showing.
I don't know how Berry gets in the squad let alone starts after that today
Just because he has a goal in him and does find some decent positions. Agree though he has been poor recently.
  • Decisions made in team selection looked downright bizarre and were proven to be pretty quickly. Watson for Ramsay why?! As I said when it was announced - fuck players being tired in October. You play your best players!

whats happened to our press? We just can’t be bothered anymore.

Anderson must have photos of NJ in the showers with Luton’s 2020 squad or something cos how he keeps staying in the fucking team god only knows.

Ahadme is guff. End of. Nothing else to say. He couldn’t replace Theresa May up front never mind Alfie.

Campbell isn’t a striker. Never has been never will be so just stop this dumb experiment.

One word, diabolical. Im surprised we scored 2 tbh. Godden should be starting he's most natural goalscorer. Can't take any positives from that, we just seem to be getting worse. The only good thing was that I won my bet, but even that hasn't perked me up. Its depressing being a Charlton fan right now.

I don't see how we can persist with Ahadme.
    There needs to be changes.
They are gone but jeez we're missing Dobbo and May.
    Dreading Saturday.
agreed, especially now he's joined the Maynard-Brewer panto mask club

I am not so sure, the main reason we are crap is because we signed a load of shit players.

Some of them must be keeping their heads down wondering how the hell they get a game and a wage each week

Berry couldn't be fucking arsed today. It was like Gilbey on Valium
  • Made the trip to Bristol. We deserved to be 3-0 down and then I left early.

Awful performance. No real positives of note in the first 70 mins.
  • At what point are we allowed to say Jones out? Has no tactical nous just relies on banging on out being front footed and  relentless. We are so predictable Another manager who sticks to a rigid formation regardless of the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition and results. We’ve been found out and we are unwilling or unable to change.

I’m afraid it was worse than bad. No guts from anyone. Spineless performance scoring 2 doesn’t disguise it’s another loss and a pretty dire performance.

I agree. Leaburn to start, see how he is at half time, if necessary bring Aneke on.

Surely time to give up the 3 centre backs. Our wingbacks give us next to nothing going forward so we are getting overrun in midfield for nothing. Just end up playing long balls and playing for flick ons & defensive errors

Has to be something like this. I can’t understand how such a promising start under him last year (and even the start of this season) has gone to sh*t.

When you bleat on about how good the pre season was, how good we did in the transfer window and for the first game of the season you see Tyreece Campbell leading the front line you know that somebody needs to give their head a wobble. Signing a load of Luton scrap heapers should've also been a red flag. Did we learn nothing from the Lua Lua nonsense??
This side is bereft of any guile. Penetrative passes are well beyond it. The plan from the off this season was to box up the defensive third. Don't let the opposition score and at least come away with a point.
That philosophy has been torn to shreds inside 5 or 6 games.
From what I've seen I really don't think Jones has got what it takes to turn the tide. He hasn't the players to turn it for a kick off.
And there we have it. Another season of shit beckons

    Midfield was utter wank

needs to change it and the forward line come Saturday. Give the Jamaican lad a go. Terry Taylor and Edun too if necessary. I like Anderson but he needs a spell out the squad . Our crosses and general set pieces were woeful again
