What a frustrating team. If it weren't for defence, midfield and attack, we would have a bloody good team. Anyway, we move, onto the next one, we go again. UTA

    Disgraceful performance

  • It’s not a coincidence that we concede worldies every week.

midfield is so pedestrian, starting front two have no threat and even our previously solid defence now looks shaky.

    concerned.

    Such a bizarre performance.
I don’t get why we keep switching the defence.
But the midfield is so woeful and as much as I’ve backed him, Ahadme in front of a woeful midfield is just useless.
I’d start Godden and Aneke on Saturday. Ramsey in for Watson.
Doc in for Anderson who was our weakest midfielder imo.

There will be calls for NJ to be sacked but we really cannot do that again. We have to stick with this team atm.

I believe they’ll turn it around.

People say judge us after 10 games but I’ve seen plenty to make my mind up about this lot. We’ve once again built a squad that is not even close to promotion worthy. I’d now go as far as to say there are no significant improvements on last season. Jones is a one club wonder and his body language on the touchline is slowly morphing into Michael Appleton. We are truly cursed and I’ve had enough.

That was absolute shite. Forget the scoreline, it was abysmal from start to finish. As I said on the match thread I'm a NJ supporter, but he's pushed my limits in the last 3 games, he either sorts it or goes, we're just terrible across the park!
    Enough said!
  • 99% of that was utter shite. But one very small positive... Leaburn looked good

Just to be clear, we got beaten by only one goal but remember this was against a very poor team who made us look like mugs for most of the game. The midfield, in whichever combination, is lacking in energy, skill and pace. The forwards are shot shy and the defence has become porous. It looks as much like a relegation team as other poor sides we have had over the past years.
A bad defeat to Brum and Jones will likely lose his job, and deserve to, having sold our top scorer and signed all these crap players and put them in an utterly tedious and ineffective team structure.
    Awful.

It doesn't make any difference who manages us or who owns the club. You don't have a blip for 10 years. This is who we are now.
Said it before now, but genuinely feel like we're the Oldham of the South

Doomed to spend the rest of our days, League One at best, dreaming like some Grandad of our Premier League days, before we slowly slide down the Divisions, with owners treating us like a game of pass the parcel.

But hey... We've got one of the largest budgets in the Division, so must count for something... Right?

Positives: Corners a bit better, Godden and Aneke added some impetus when they came on.

Negatives: Everything else. Just shit all over the pitch. First game this season where I think every player that started had a stinker.

Oh well, Saturday be an easier game

We might as well draw lots and get a couple of lifers to play up front. We won't pose any threat but we will be cheap and what difference would that make?

Dog sh1t performance. No creativity, toothless up front for most of the match and midfield woeful too. Also why does NJ have his fingers / possibly thumbs taped up ?. Seen it done in white and black tape ........
  • That was really fucking awful.

Easily beaten by one of the worst teams in the league - and they looked it as well.

    Clueless

It is the distinct lack of any change. I like Jones but by god he's got maybe 3 more games for me, without improvement he'll have to go. Can't believe we're saying it at this point of the season... AGAIN.

    Absymal.

One of the worst performances I have ever seen. If that midfield 3 ever start together again then something is seriously seriously wrong.

I know Doherty hasn't been great, but he needs to come back in as he at least has a bit of experience and leadership.

Batshit crazy changes again. Watson for Ramsey? Really?????

Jones has to pick a front two and stick with it. One of them has to be Godden as he is the only one who remotely looks like he has a goal in him. I've defended Ahadme, but he was appalling tonight. I'd start Aneke and take the risk. Try and get 60 mins out of him and then bring on Ahadme.or Leaburn when the opposition are tiring.

The really scary thing is looking at upcoming fixtures this could quickly turn into 5 or 6 defeats on the bounce.

Someone put it well on the match thread why do we setup so negatively like a side facing relegation. Made sense when Jones came in but not now on 1st October

Poor recruitment, never replaced CBT our only exciting attacking threat. May replaced by inferiors and Dobson all round play is missed in midfield. More I see them play Campbell and Anderson wouldn't look out of place in non league, going to be another long slog of a season and Jones will be gone by November at this rate.

Why did Jones not change the attack at the start of the second half? Strange decisons are a big worry.

a team performance to match the shirt colour, a bunch of washed out lemons .. what t f has gone wrong ???
no energy, no obvious pattern of play, no pace, just nothing .. is it too soon to ask THE question ..has Jones N 'lost' the dressing room ?

As an aside, f f s WEAR RED against a team in blue and white !!

Just completely at a loss. Probably be another formation and player roulette for Saturday but I just can't see how this miraculously improves. Hopefully Godden at least gets a start Saturday.
  • Bristol were truly awful! How have we messed that up so bad?!

38 posts in five minutes says it all.

Don't let the scoreline or the goals fool you, we were awful. If anything, it underlines how shit we were that we couldn't get at Rovers.

There are a lot of problems right now. I need to get back to work, and then need to eat lunch, and then go to bed, and then go to work so I don't have time to outline all of them over the next 16 hours. But a lot is broken.

I'm not Jones Out yet, just because I don't think there's a significantly better manager willing to come in and take over. But Jones is definitely on the hot seat. We've taken four points from six games, and the game we won in that stretch was against a poor side where we were poor.

Saturday is going to be very interesting. It's his job to change things, not just the team, not just the formation, but the preparation and style of play. Does he have that in him? I'm just not sure.
  • Ahadme is not good enough
Campbell is not a striker. He’s a very decent winger at this level.
    Godden should be starting.
Our wingbacks do not provide the necessary attacking threat that justifies playing this formation.
Im not saying that he will make wholesale changes but something like this?

                                    Mannion
    Ramsay           Mitchell     Jones        Edwards

                          Coventry     Docherty

           Godden              Berry               Campbell

                                    Leaburn

Not sure if it’s a decent idea or not but feeling pretty numb after that showing.

I don't see how we can persist with Ahadme.
    There needs to be changes.
They are gone but jeez we're missing Dobbo and May.
    Dreading Saturday.

Didn’t pay any attention to the second half because I was watching The Walking Dead. I don’t think I really need to add a punchline.

I don't know how Berry gets in the squad let alone starts after that today
