People saying Karoy and Kanu need to go out on loan! C'mon these two were brilliant for us last season FFS. Getting older more experienced players in doesn't mean you have to ship your prospects out. It actually gives the management the option to use the boys when he needs to and not flog them cause they are the only option! Never heard of Allan, but hopefully he does well. COYA
I think that works for Anderson, being one of 5 competing for 3 midfield slots, but Kanu is one of 7 competing for 2 striker slots. I would give Dan a good season long loan, he's still young and we'll have striking positions open up in the next couple of years.

    The Nathan Jones effect…
    Obviously very easily pleased...🤦‍♂️

Millwall fans don't rate him at all. Yes you might say they would always say that, but they were complimentary about Mitchell
Lloyd Jones was rubbish for us last season when he was asked to pass out from the back, but now he's got the right players around him and his job is just smashing the ball with his face he's been superb. Coventry was lost alongside Dobson but with a good preseason and work on the training ground he just ran Bolton off the park. Campbell is our starting striker after Appleton made him into a shell of a winger who was about to leave the club. Put the right players in the right system with the right manager and it makes all the difference
I hope so and am excited by the Luton fans views, just throwing out a different opinion.

I really like both of them but define brilliant?

I'd say they both did brilliant on their own terms, i.e. for being youth players coming into the first team. We need players who will do brilliant on L1 terms. Neither are tearing up the league at this point but with more experience they might.
Brilliant, maybe too strong! But, as KA showed on Saturday he's a very valuable player who created the 2nd goal with his "press". Id keep both these lads around personally, to play and train with better players than they've had before. Rather than playing at a lower level. COYA

Theres no way these players would be coming to the club with Appleton in charge.
Christ...that seems lightyears ago when you consider our start to the season and what we had to endure from him..only last season! Nuts.

Yeah, but Kanu is competing for 1 of 4 slots (Jones switches both strikes at 60mins and Tyreece is a converted striker tbf (as well as he's played). Kanu is a natural goalscorer and we need to get him involved imho. Not sure how long he has on his contract, but this should be his time to shine I think. COYA

It was bad enough thinking about the end of last summer's window with Abankwah ,Tedic and Louie Watson! Okay most of January's signings have now worked out but Freddie Ladapo, Fiorini and Bakinson will take some forgetting.

not another Campbell, confuses me when doing the stats
Two Campbells, two Mitchells - it has the potential to be as bad for you as the start of last season with the Campbells and Watsons. Goodness knows how Tel's going to cope on commentary.

I can't see Anderson going on loan as he will be getting Dixon settled in.

I have to be honest I have no real clue about this guy but if NJ believes he will strengthen our team then that’s good enough for me ! Are we safe to start believing yet ? 😂
  • Re Kanu - I think a loan move would be best for his development, similar to KAG. It all depends on Miles being fit.

Assume A Campbell will replace Anderson on the bench this week. Imagine Edun will be on his way out

Really! I've been posting highlights for years. Not a sniff. But you think 11 words is enough. 😩

When we grow up can we be Luton
  • When we grow up can we be Luton
Luton are the perfect template how to climb the leagues and reach the promised land.

Apart from two seasons, since 2008 Charlton have been a club in turmoil.

We have had a series of dodgy owners, and more managers in 15 years than we probably had in the previous 50 years.

We have protested in Belgium against one owner, and we have been in the courts fighting another owner.

So yes I would very much like my club to be run along the Luton model.

Anything to get out of this god awful league.

It used to be compulsory to loan a Matt Smith, now we have to have a loan player from Luton.

Shinnie, E Lee, L Watson, A Campbell have all come on loan, plus Isted and Berry on perms, all since 2020.

I don't recall seeing the player but Campbell looks to have a good pedigree and this is hardly a loan in which Charlton are developing someone else's player. I don't know what Campbell's contractual position is but, having been loaned out last season as well, he might well be a free agent next summer and, even if he is not, a successful spell at Charlton could well lead to him joining us on a permanent basis.

On the basis that Fraser and Taylor have no future at the club and Edun is not rated, we now at least have five midfielders for the three slots. We'll certainly need them with injuries and suspension over a long season, particularly given the team's high energy, aggressive style.
