Well this is no better than last season….no threat up front whatsoever….selling May a big mistake5

Good competitive half
enjoyable to watch
really good tempo to it
SC shouldn’t be on the pitch.
he’s aggression will get the better of him, we need to target it3 -
Campbell gets blocked and complains to the ref. Unfortunately he's not quite finished complaining when Coventry puts the ball forward so it goes straight to the keeper. And the ref blows for half time.

I'm sorry but this is fukin shite.2

We are a bigger, stronger, tougher to beat mid table league one team. Seriously dull to watch. Orient are poor, we are not testing them. A Gillesphy soft challenge led to the best chance of the whole half... Mannion saved us.2

Gutted about Edwards. Fucking Sean Clare1

So sky plus is a minute behind the match, so I get updates from the Charlton app before they happen 😰😰0

Scrappy affair. Being outpressed by orient. Hope for a more fluid 2nd half0
-
We’re definitely stronger at the back but if you’re going to lump it you need more guile and physicality up top than TC.1
-
That’s a poor watch….Orient are a dirty team with the ref not helping….Clare should have had a straight red0
-
Poor first half.
I blame Fraser ...4 -

the tyreece campbell and small show.1

We've controlled the First Half well for the most part.
Orient have been a threat on the break, but as Brownie is saying right now, we're already looking better defensively, which is a bonus... We hopefully shouldn't need to score 3-4 goals each game, just to win.
Going forward is a concern, yet Orient are sitting back whenever they can so we need to be patient with our build up play - Its been frustrating when we get in good positions, only to pass backwards. However I'd rather do that, and keep the ball rather than waste a chance that is barely there, and so give Orient the chance to count, especially with our own players out of position.
Chances will come3 -
Felt like we grew into it a little bit towards the end, but still it’s a very very difficult watch.
The pass to Gillesphey and boot it long tactic is starting to wear thin.3 -
Looks like it’s time to sack Jones and rebuild for next season with an attacking possession based style. Gives us excuses for this season and next.8

Fairly even but I think we shaded it just. TC's pace is frightening them but we havent capitalised on it. Defence looking good again but the injury to Edwards was a bummer. Need our players to get in Clsre's face & give him.some grief.1

On that showing, If we have recruited for the championship this off season, then we are relegated before we even get feckin promoted!! That was shite. I hope for better.0

Charlton on top in all measures except the scoreline.0 -
The players would have felt seeing Edwards stretched off. It's nice to see us more organised and compact, but attacking play is pretty much non-existent.
A definite red seeing as it was cynical and a clear breakaway. Can only hope it's a deep bruise.1 -
No real pattern of attacking play, a lot of hoofing up to the strikers, and hoping something will happen. Campbell has actually been quite lively today, making attacks out of 50 50 situations.1
-
2 shots on target, apparently. There's progress.0
-
To paraphrase Simon & Garfunkel...
Hello mid-table my old friend.5 -
Should be retrospective action for me, refs should be allowed to watch the replay at half time, come out and say "having watched it back I have rescinded the yellow card and decided to award a red card"1
-
No confidence we can dominate any game this season0

No lack of effort. Orient surprisingly are playing a high press, which is effective, as our back line are used very often as part of the system of recycling the ball, often from the Orient half, all the way to out backs and keeper then rebuild. I don't really like this as it wastes time and slows everything down. Our team is crying out for dynamism and skill. Too many balls forward are punts, rather than picked out.
Jones needs to up his game if this system is going to command games and grind out wins. Ipswich won promotion with 6 players scoring more than 5 goals, maybe a system Jones is trying to emulate.
As an aside, Ipswich started today's game against Liverpool with 7 of their first 11, playing in their promotion from league one team. Who from our team would you reasonable put out in a Premier league game?0
