Managed to get through to Sky ( in India of course) & after being transferred a couple of times, found there's no way we can access the games - we also have an old TV & Sky Signature package inc the full Sky Sports.
Thought I'd cracked it when found prices for Sky Stream on their website which would mean a few pounds more than we're currently paying each month but with Netflix included , saving us £11.
"Ah, that's only for NEW Sky customers !" I was told.
No discounts then for VIP customers ( whatever that means ) of 20 years !
Back to the VPN later today but investigating one of those dongle thingies....

Afternoon all…..just wondering if the kick off is 17.30 what time will the programme itself start…..I assume there is some sort of game preamble before hand?0

https://www.charltonafc.com/news/watch-wigan-clash-live-charltontv"Nathan Jones' Addicks will be looking to get off to the perfect start at the Brick Community Stadium, with CharltonTV's coverage beginning from 5pm.
Those who tune in will be able to enjoy live commentary from former Addick Peter Shirtliff, who will join regulars Terry Smith and Greg Stubley in Wigan."

redman said:So having pretty much established I can't watch the games on my TV with Sky as we only have a Sky+box (not Q). I think my options are:
1. Download app and watch on my mobile (hardly watchable really tbh)
2. Get a VPN, work out how to convince it I'm international (?), subscribe to Charlton TV: this would let me watch on my laptop but not my TV (still not ideal if 3 of us)
3. I think there may be a 3rd option. Subscribe to Now TV with sky sports. This seems to be £14.99 for daily or £34.99 for a month. Think I can then get this via an app on my Smart TV. Although think maybe it's £6 a month extra for HD (not available on daily). Maybe take a daily as a short solution until we can get sky sorted.
Be interested in anybody's comments, particularly if anyone has used Now TV
Ranks alongside booking rail tickets on line. 🤨1 -

Even better if you have a cable that can connect the laptop to the TV so you can get the bigger picture.0 -
My current plan is to get a lightning to Digital AV adapter and plug my iPhone into the HDMI port in the TV through that and hopefully stream that way. Which means I have to go to Curry's and buy an adapter, which means we'd better bloody turn up or I'm invoicing Charlie Methven for the adapter

Highly doubt Sky have the capacity to do even 15 minutes of preamble for every game.0 -

Looks like Covered End has answered my question, seems like it starts about 5 minutes before kick of time.
Cheers all. 👍1 -
Ok, next question
I'm watching the Charlton game on Sky+ on the red button.
But if I also wanted to watch Steve Brown etc from 17.00 to 17.25 on Charlton TV.
Do you go into youtube and search what? Charlton?0 -

I've watched/streamed 2 games on Sky+
The Barnsley game froze on 90 mins.
The Millwall game froze during HT and again in the 96th minute.1 -
golfaddick said:Out of interest who will be the commentator for Wigan ? Do Sky have enough commentators for every League 1 game on Saturday ? I (stupidly) thought that it might be Greg & Terry but then my son said the pictures would be universal so the commentary also.
Any ideas or am I being stupid & missing something?0 -

If anyone has got an old Sky+ box, you can't get the red button games on it.
I used to have one and phoned Sky up and they came round, put a new dish up and gave me a new Sky Q box. Amazingly, no charge.
Worth doing if you have the old style box.0
