The day after Millwall announce they have sold 7k we mysteriously match that number.clive said:

2023/24 season-ticket holders who have yet to renew have until May 31st to guarantee their specific seat for 2024/25.

We usually hear about it when numbers are good/up so I’m assuming there’s been a drop? (vs prior seasons)

Far too many of our own supporters are defrauding the club so unfortunately checks have to be carried outRadostanradical said:Actually in addition to this last season i turnt up a few mins late to the game and the stewards asked to check my ticket (and the people with me) before letting us "swipe" in. They stopped me and asked me to provide them my student card aswell to prove i was a student. Fortunately i had it with me but was unsure, if they hadnt of let me in i might of complained but certainly not about having to send them a pic of it each time i buy a new ticket.7 -

Strong language really. I don't think there are any actual criminal defrauders looking to steal from the club by obtaining a ticket by deception. There are however some fans who will always find the prices too high even if the majority think the prices are reasonable. If you're hard up or not earning but want to support the club and fill an otherwise empty seat that isn't such a bad thing.JohnnyH2 said:

Of course there needs to be deterrence, and ticket checks are part of that but also the pricing policy and the concession rules need to be kept under review to get the ground more full. A few more wins always helps with that too.

I’m thinking of buying tickets on the upper west (top deck of the west stand).
What’s it like up there and what are the food and drink outlets like?1 -
Probably reasonable to assume that ‘7,000 Addicks’ is actually a number that starts with a ‘6’.Oh Eddie Youds... said:

Mind you, unless there is another news update, it’s not necessarily clear that Millwall have sold that many TBF. Their website says ‘over 7,000 people will be backing the boys in SE16’ which doesn’t actually confirm they will all be season ticket holders…

Before Roland came along it was over 60 years of age reduced rates. Plus Chris Parkes knew most people by name.bobmunro said:You are buying a season ticket at a concessionary rate - the fact that they have never asked for proof of age when buying single tickets in the past doesn't mean that they shouldn't now. Perhaps it is too much of an administrative burden (it shouldn't be) when buying a single over 65 ticket, but you are buying 23 tickets in one go so I would have been disappointed if they hadn't asked. I've been going on and off for 60 years and two years ago I managed to reach the ripe old age of 65, so I could save a bit on my season ticket. They rightly asked me for proof of age and once provided they need never ask again - I've renewed twice since then and it automatically presents me with a over 65 season ticket. Why is it such a problem?

Just as well Simon didn’t see it he would be saying Jesus by now over and over again.timken said:Agreed. But on a serious note whilst I started off a bit indignant that they should ask for proof of my age the feedback I got from the lifers was instrumental in getting me to "not die on a pointless hill.
The final straw came when I told my wife that I was in dispute with charlton as they had asked for proof of age and that no one was supporting my position and she just said "that's because they are right and you are wrong"(she then mumbled "as always under her breath with a smile on her face
Enjoy your season ticket @timken0 -

What’s it like up there and what are the food and drink outlets like?My old season ticket was in Block Q of the Upper West, from the Dushitelet period till now there are plenty of seats to take your pick from, and the view is very good. The refreshment stand service was very quick. What I would say is that the area was in need of a coat of paint, and when the rain came down remember you need to go back to your seat as the concourse is not covered.2 -

I went in there for the Northampton home game last season (usually north stand). My main memory is going for a wee at half time and when I went in the loo there was a man just stood there brushing his teeth!
Never seen that in the north!7 -

Well, I know one very well off supporter who, until he qualified for an over-65 concession, bought a season ticket in his grandson's name and used that. I called him out on it a number of times but he really didn't see anything wrong with his deception. I'm pretty sure he wasn't an isolated case.swords_alive said:

Agree with the sentiment but if they had of stopped me going in after i had provided the ticket office with the proof of my student ID at time of purchase and also unhelpfully i forgot to mention when they stopped me they asked for proof of id so i showed them my driving license first to prove i was the person named on the card, then they requested a student ID to prove i was a student which IMO seems a step too much after i have already proved im a student to the club. As said the point is moot as had my student ID on me in the end.JohnnyH2 said:

You should not admit to that, enough think you actually are the poor fella.

O/S says 7000 sold. Mentioned in the interview with Jones. No idea how that compares to previous years.0

How are sales, good numbers or not, anyone know.0

Would imagine 7500/8000 by now. If we can hit 10000 would be really decent0

7,200 as of 27th Junejonseventyfive said:How are sales, good numbers or not, anyone know.1 -
Hopefully it can pick up a bit as the season draws nearer.0

I can’t make out whether this is good, bad or to be expected, given we’ve just had our worst season in living memory.shirty5 said:

Bear in mind we had just over 8000 for the return to the Valley in 1992, the club massively needs rebuilding, 20,000 empty seats is a challenge, but not a good look.0 -
I think 7,200 is pretty good considering the dross we've been served up the last three years. I guess there is a hardcore support that will buy a season ticket regardless of what happens on the pitch.0
-
I never have trust in any figures the club puts out, that’s not a dig at current regime that applies to all regimes as they all have history of massaging figures. No idea if that 7,200 is pure sales, or includes all the allocated free offerings to staff, academy, the Trust 500 etc. 800 of those 7,200 could easily be non-sales. So who knows. There’s a massive challenge to get paying fans through door again and not just giving out freebies.3
