Season ticket renewal 2024/25

edited May 11 in General Charlton
Trying to renew our season tickets but is not giving me my Valley Gold discount. Anybody else having this problem? Presume I will have to call the ticket office on Monday.

A side issue, when renewing our women's tickets it is coming up as 22/23 which is wrong and won't allocate specific seats. I can get round this by going back into the system and having another transaction, which of course costs another £1.50. More annoying than anything.

  • My Valley Gold £15 discount came up automatically. As you say, best to give the ticket office a bell and they can get it sorted.
  • Check how much you paid, we had a similar problem, when we checked it didn’t show the discount anywhere but it had been taken off.
  • I have tried to renew for our two online and it is a total impossibility.
Charlton Athletic seen to make it near impossible for those like me who do not regard any online stage as obvious, straightforward, quick and easy.
Apart from two years under Duchatelet I have had a season ticket every year since 1971, and was a regular turnstile payer for eight years before that.
Long term loyalists like me don’t expect any special treatment, but we get a lot of text and email reminders, but very little clear and easy help.
I will try to go to the Valley in person next week, but I don’t want the schlepp particularly.
(Cue the passive/aggressive lol’s from my usual hectoring browbeaters on Charlton Life)
  • My Valley Gold and Charlton Life discounts were applied automatically online, no problem.

Easy to do over the phone too if you're having tech problems.
  • It was automatic at checkout when I did mine

I will give that a try. Do you speak to a person or have to input data using your mobile telephone?

You will speak to a proper person if you ring up or you can pop down there on Tuesday morning. Plenty of free parking in the West stand car park

Person. They're extremely helpful and always have been even throughout the turmoil over the years.

Me and all my mates renewed online without a problem.
If you can't then why wouldn't you ring the ticket office to renew?

We are of a similar age and by the sounds of it about as good as one another on line.
Phone the ticket office and they will sort it for you, that's what I do and I've never had a problem.
    Good luck.

Yeah that CL discount code took a large chunk off the hospitality prices. The six-month qualification period is a bit tough on noobies though.
  • Bit peeved that I renewed my season ticket for a fee of £1.50, couldnt renew my VE season ticket because they hadn’t made a decision on the service, now renewed that at another £1.50 fee. No major drama but a bit annoying.
In the scheme of things, does £1.50 really matter, and yes I also had that fee added to my renewal.

Still works out worth it in the long run, especially with the CharltonTV special access.

You haven’t let your VG lapse by any chance ? When did you last pay ?
  • Couldn't book mine online. My seat was showing as taken, presumably allowing me to keep the same seat but despite being logged on correctly it didn't recognise it was me. Phoned up the ticket office and they had it sorted in seconds.

I had that issue buying season tickets, VG discount wasn't applying. I logged out, and back in, still no luck. Then logged in again but with the credentials of someone else in our group who don't have VG, and the discount appeared, so I bought the group's tickets via that account. Looks like a bug in the code or crap in the club's database.
  • I renewed my S/T online and then forwarded the confirmation email to the ticket offfice email and asked them to refund me my VG discount...!  They're normally pretty good.
  • Not showing our Valley Gold discount either. Checked with Sharron who said should all be in order - but still coming up at full price. Will have to call ticket office next week.
  • Do you have to move out of the family stand once your kid is 18?

A pain though when you’ve got family still sitting in there. May have to recruit a new fan to bring along
